I think OU and Buffalo could be sleeper teams. I think Buffalo could be one of the favorites rather than a sleeper team. I'd like to think BG could make a run deep into the tourny, depending on where they are seeded and who they are matched up with.

If Toledo could get hot, maybe they could as well. But I'm not expecting much from this team. If they have to open up on the road in the tournament, mind as well pencil in a first round exit.

Marshall...only because all other teams have a good shot at winning it and can't be termed a "sleeper."

Toledo is my sleeper team, but I am using the term sleeper in another way. They will actually sleep through the tournament. 03-banghead

The problem handicapping the MAC this year is that not only is the old cliché that anyone can beat anyone on a given night true, but this year any of nine teams really can put a 10-20 point whipping on any of the others, then turn around and have it done to them right back.
Every team has 2-3 games left and there are only 3 games separating 9 teams. Two games separating 8 teams. ONE game separating 7 teams!
It's totally insane when the number 8-9 teams can still realisiticallywin the division with just over a week left.
You just got to love MAC hoops! 04-rock

Yes. And since they went 1-1 against BG that says alot about your team's abilities too. 03-wink

Since Akron is no longer considered a "sleeper" I would have to say OHIO could be a "sleeper" of sorts as we may be the biggest surprise of the season. I believe we were picked dead last in the MAC East after a 10-20 season a year ago and we already have more wins in the MAC this year that I thought possible in a good rebuilding year.

Buffalo is hot of late as well. If the winner of the MAC Tourney is NOT from the MAC East I would be VERY surprised...

Tradition for what? 5 years? How about before that? I guess my definition of tradition is different than yours.

Sleeper team that would be my pick would be Buffalo, but since they were a preseason pick would they qualify as a sleeper. Miami would have to be the favorite, but everybody else may qualify as a sleeper. As for Ohio, I worry about the lack of experience. Sure we have very talanted team;however, they tourneyment is a new ball game. The inconsistency of the Ohio offense is a concern. Ohio struggled during its last few games. Mychal Green is playing hurt and it shows. Can Jeremy Fears really carry the team?I do think Buffalo will be a very tough out with Turner Battle. They look much better than when Ohio beat them before.
