BG stunk up the joint last night. WMU hammered us, 77-52. Sounded like we never got off the bus.
Had a chance to take over 1st in the West and almost clinch a 1st round bye and we didn't play worth Falcon droppings. Dakich got a T 3 min into the game. On the post game, Dakich admitted it was all to get the team fired up. It didn't work.
Per Warthog from AyZiggyZoomba.com....the possibilites pending Saturday's outcome...
If I understand the tie-breakers correctly, we can still get the third seed with a win over Central, a Western win over Ball St, Buffalo (at home) over Akron, and Kent (at home) over Ohio. That would create a six way tie for third at 11-7. Against the group of teams that would be tied (BG, UT, Akron, Ohio, Kent, Buffalo), we have a 4-3 record which is the best winning %. Akron and Ohio are both 5-4. This seems like a very likely scenario so lets hope it plays out like this or we may not even make it to Cleveland.
If we lose, we could fall all the way to a tie for eighth with Ball State (in the worst case scenario). Having split with them, it then goes to your record against the highest seeded team. We are 1-0 against Miami and Ball St is 0-2. So worst case is we host Ball State on Monday.
With a win, I think the worst we do is is the #5 seed. Miami and Western are ahead of us no matter what. Since we are 1-0 against both Buffalo and Kent, getting into a tie-breaker with those two involved with us gives us the advantage. If Western, Akron and Ohio would all win Saturday, we would be the #5 seed and host Central again on Monday.
WOW....a simple win last night would have helped greatly, guys! We better rally the troops in a hurry.
GO FALCONS!! BEAT CMU!
