26-24 cats at the half. Another close Miami-OU game. 2 ot games last year. two more decided in final seconds this year. The longer Ohio stays in this the better our chances. Miami jumped up 9-2 but Bobcats were not fazed. Fatigue may set in in the second half. That bye will help Miami some in the second half.

OU played great down the stretch......penetrated well, and hit most every 3 in the last 8 minutes or so. I thought they deserved to win, as disappointed as I am in the result. Really dissapointing to see yet another shot at the MAC getting multiple NCAA bids likely slip away........ 03-banghead

I really can't say that Miami has earned any consideration for an at-large bid...

the last 10 games really haven't been good for Miami...losing to Marshall will probably cost Miami an atlarge bid....damnit.

If it wasn't for all those threes from Troutman, you guys had us. I think our overall athleticism of the team is our best asset. We missed all of our threes in the beginning of this once and couldn't hit a freethrow if our life depended on it when we played Marshall. We are going to have to step it up a notch if we want to win the Championship.

Rhetorically, why is it every year the Missouri Valley regular season champ loses in its tourney, locking up multiple bids for its conference, but when it happens to the MAC, we are locked out?

Had to say because the Marshall guys would love it so much, but I think Miami could've afforded to lose in the semi's had we not lost to the lowly Herdies............that took some luster off our MAC regular season championship. I'd be shocked if we get a bid now.

I for one hope you still do. And this is coming from a bobcat.
More MAC teams in the NCAAs the better.

I'm glad the Bobcats finally made it to another championship game in my lifetime. But the Hawks played a great game and had some clutch shots from Mason and Peavy down the stretch. Troutman just got on fire or else it was over. I hope we get two teams in the tournament this year, but unfortunately not enough analysts actually WATCH Mac games to notice how good the teams are and give the conference more credit. They see that there is parity in the league and assume that nobody is a standout team. But I guarantee that Miami and their defensive style of basketball would give anyone fits in the tournament if they make it. Hope we get to see another good game tomorrow and maybe impress some of the selection committee with the overall strength of the conference.

I think Miami or Buffalo could win the NIT if they don't get an atlarge. For Ohio anything we do Saturday in gravy. We have completed all are objectives for such a young team. 20-10 9-4 vs the Mac east rivals this year. Can you believe we put up at 20 win season after that 20 loss year last year. wow. O'Shea did a great job this year. he is 6-4 vs Miami in 4 years. 2-0 vs Miami in the MAC tourneyment.
Buffalo is a great team with senoirs, all-mac player in Battle, size inside, and a very good and deep bench. They finished where everybody expected. Ohio getting this kind of experience for their freshman will help them in the next few years. Getting to the MAC champ this year is something that Ohio has not done since 1994. Bobcats get a game on espn2 for the nation to see their young talent. UB will reach the sweet sixteen in they get in. They are very good and battle tested with the tough competition that the rest of the MAC provided this year. The ncaa will give them a 13th seed and they will beat a 4 seed then spank a 5 seed. Beating UB a third time will be tough. UB will bring their A game for sure. Bobcats were running out of gas in the second half tonite. Troutman got hot at the perfect time. Williams looked exhausted in the second half. 5 games in 7 days for these guys. Ohio lack of bench is a huge advantage for UB. It will be interesting to see how much Leon has left in the tank. The big fella has given the MAC a preview of what he can do. UB and Ohio will showcase the two teams with the most talent. That Troutman alley oop shot should get a top ten award from sportscenter. Should be an exciting final.

I'm glad to see my favorite pissy fellow bobcat supporter has taken five minutes out of his evening to share his modest mouse opinion.

Whats the point of being a fan.....if there is no fanaticism?

Very difficult for MAC teams to do much in the NIT's since we almost always get away game match-ups. The entire tourney is geared to protect eastern teams (and keep major conference teams to generate better TV ratings) so they can get a good crowd for the semi's and finals at Madison Square Garden

Given Miami's resume away from Millett, I do not see them going far in the NIT if it comes to that. Miami was an above average team, that couldn't put teams away when they played elsewhere. The Buffalo comeback and the Wichita State wins were nice, but both were home games. They often played close on the road. There was no killer instinct.

The NIT will not give Miami multiple home games, if any at all. The attendance just does not justify it. Hell in the early 90's our attendance did justify it and they still sent us to play Georgetown as the away team.

Congrats to Buffalo, OU, and the MAC in general. The East was a monster.

Yeah, and when they sent us to play Georgetown (after we hosted the second round vs. ODU with a crowd of over 7K), they drew around 3K. But no way was the NIT gonna let an eastern school play a MAC school away in their Elite 8 game. Predictably, we lost when Georgetown (who was a notoriously poor shooting team that year) shot "lights out" vs. us in that game.
