You guys don't want to come to the MAC. Its a one bid basketball conference 75% of the time. The football is actually better in the Sun Belt top to bottom.

I would stay in the Sun Belt and make the upgrade to 1-A from there. With FAU an FIU joining in football its going to be much more competitive than the last couple of years. I know FIU and FAU are going to be a drag in basketball for a few years, but they will come around. Look at Buffalo. Everyone on here (besides KC) was screaming for Buffalo to be kicked out and now they have a good program. FAU and FIU are institutions on the rise and don't forget that.

If you want to go bigger in a few years make a move to CUSA or an eastern split of CUSA and that will be more powerful than anything the MAC can put together.

The MAC just isn't working. Only one bid. Two bowl games for 12 schools. You're better off staying in the belt.

That's it.

I'm begging everybody. Please don't bite on this trollbait. DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS THREAD.

I've had it with the crap and the lies. KC is now on my ignore list too.

"Hello there ego, why it's a displeasure to meet ya
to be honest bro, I really don't know hot to treat ya
greet ya with a pound but you want more than dap
and to be honest I really don't know how to act

I hear the blah blah blahblah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah

hello there ego, can I call you out for what you are?
John Doe status but you're fronting superstar
more like the super far from reality
but I guess it's treandy to make it look like actuality

I hear the blah blah blahblah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah"

Western doesn't want to join the Mac for the Mac's sake they just want out of the Sun Belt. They would join any conference as long as it is not the Sun Belt.

The Sun Belt is not that bad of a place to be.

I have a great idea! Since you like the Sun Belt and we like the MAC, just get your school to trade places with WKU. Your posts will fit right in on the Sun Belt message board.

mjg100,

Be a little patient with Kit-Cat. Give him another 10 years and he may start acting like an adult. But then again who knows? Athens is not to far from Huntington, so maybe he has some Huntington heritage.

No, I'm sure it is just out of his sense of duty, you know, making sure we have our flagship to look up to.

The question for Western Kentucky is.....Should we bother spending a million dollars on a conference move to the MAC?

I think WKU is better off staying put in the SBC, and I think Ohio is better off staying put in the MAC. Its not worth the expense and hassle to change leagues. You also have to change all your sports to fit with what is offered in a new conference.

WKU's closest rival is MTSU with Arkansas St being no further from Bowling Green, KY than Ball State and Miami OH. The Sun Belt was rated above the MAC last year in football and almost as high in basketball. I just don't see the interest on their part except for AD Bud Selig an OU alum who wants the MAC badly. He's feeding the WKU administration a line that MAC schools get high seeds, which is bull.

Uhm, the MAC offers every single sport that WKU has. In fact, as far as number of programs in the MAC, Western Kentucky would be among the top programs, as they have the six required sports, plus:
Cross Country (Men) [10 Current Programs] - including Marshall
Cross Country (Women) [13 Current Programs] - including Marshall
Men's Golf [6 Current Programs]
Women's Golf [9 Current Programs] - including Marshall
Men's Soccer [7 Current Programs] - including Marshall and Kentucky
Women's Soccer [13 Current Programs] - including Marshall
Men's Swimming [5 Current Programs]
Women's Swimming [9 Current Programs] - including Marshall
Men's Tennis [6 Current Programs] - including IPFW
Women's Tennis [10 Current Programs] - including Marshall
Men's Track [6 Programs]
Women's Track [13 Current Programs] - including Marshall

WKU does not have a Field Hockey, Wrestling or Gymnastics team.

You may have to drop a couple men's sports if you want to stay Title IX compliant with 85 scholarships in the move to Division 1-A.

April 28th is the date.......If the attendance requirement is not changed you won't be able to move up anyways....unless you get a wavier.
