DEKALB--A scheduling mistake Tuesday afternoon at the Convocation Center brought about an unexpected result - a new attendance record was set at the 10,000-seat arena when both the 1st and 3rd shift janitorial staff arrived simultaneously.

After realizing that the error had been made, 27 of the 42 suprised employees were sent home, but not before a photograph of the group was taken to document the historic event.

The Convocation Center's previous attendance record of 39 was set on November 18, 2003 during a performance of "Sesame Street Live".

Although funny, I think it's in poor taste. I love the Convo Center. The web site was obviously put up by a disgruntled student. As soon as Jud is gone and we can field a good basketball team, the place will fill up. In the meantime, maybe we should all go there and perform. Hell, I could fill the place myself!

It could be better. I hope it gets funnier.
