The best teams in the MAC are the teams w/great OLine development/coaches. See Toledo, NIU, Miami and BG. It all starts there. Wolfe is great but that Oline is something else.

That was the worst piece of garbled, meandering, A.D.H.D. post I've read in a long time (I ignore Kit-Cat posts - so they don't count).

I commented on one thing: the assertion that WMU was the "only team to lose by 12" and that makes them "the team to look out for"?

Your ad hoc distinction between "teams to look out for" and "teams to beat" is just ridiculous backtracking. Take a stand and stick to it.

You are also trapped in circular arguments: By your own argument, you can not discount the much closer losses EMU and CMU had to Cincinnati and Indiana (as compared to Virginia) because "they haven't played each other". If I can't assert that Michigan and Wisconsin are better teams than Virginia (they are) - then you can't assert Virginia is better than Indiana and Cincinnati (which is probably also true). Be consistent.

One game doesn't make a season. Look Toledo LAST YEAR everyone one this board had them buried after giving up 60+ pts to Minnesota and Kansas. Guess who got the bling bling at the MAC Championship game. These games are just like the NFL preseason for the MAC. They are games needed for tv exposure and $$$$ for the programs. BGSU won't face a o-line like that in the MAC and Ohio won't face a team with that much speed either. Its too early to write off the season until we get deeper into the MAC schedule. How much of the gameplan are MAC coaches keeping under wraps until the MAC seasson. Ohio was very basic on defense. The entire system hasn't been installed yet forcing Ohio to play a zone defense against a senior Big Ten QB who is a three year starter. Ohio can play man to man coverage in the MAC. Kent State probably had the same problem vs Michigan State. They have a good defense, but MSU was just a better team. Playing against a huge talent mismatch forces coaches use an alternate gameplan for those games. Ohio's option wasn't gonna work against a quick defense like Northwestern, so Solich had to throw a lot more. If Ohio finds a running attack, the Ohio will be a decent team. Mayle looked like a potential all MAC at WR, if Everson can get him the ball more often.

I'll just note that except for untimely TO's, NIU was very impressive in their game with UM. Of course Wolfe and the NIU running attack was great, but their new QB looked pretty good, too.

Things are not as bad as the press makes it.
Kinda a rough world we live in. We lose all of the games we are supposed to lose and win the only game we are supposed to win (according to the lines @ least) and we're getting killed in the media. Like another poster said, it's only one week.

Both our new QBs are - the backup is now also a starting WR, #7 Britt Davis. He had a couple catches.

I finally got around to watching the NIU-UM game I recorded (kind of zipping through a lot of it). Yeah, the turning point killer were the back-to-back second quarter fumbles. All those TO gifts, and UM managed a 16 point victory and is ranked #3.

I must've watched that Wolfe long TD run about 10 times. I loved it when he cut toward the middle and the UM defenders all fell over themselves. 03-lol

Novak hoped he could get the ball back using the timeouts to get some young kids on the field. As you know many midwest recruits dream about playing in Michigan Stadium. He had no intentions of trying to score.

Novak called Carr to explain on Monday.

Thus per Tuesdays Chicago Sun Times.
