Jason Parker kicked off team
Redshirt sophomore Jason Parker has been dismissed from the Kentucky men's basketball team for violating departmental policy, University of Kentucky athletics director Mitch Barnhart announced Friday.
The dismissal comes one day after The Cats' Pause reported that Parker had failed to show up for the 2002-03 team photograph. TCP investigated Parker's absence on Thursday, but was assured by UK officials that it was a scheduling conflict.
The loss of Parker could spell trouble for a Kentucky basketball team that struggled mightily last season without the presence of the powerful center in the low post. Many speculated last year that losing Parker dropped the Cats from a Final Four contender to the middle of the pack.

Dang that hurts. Kentucky's program has really had some problems recently.
I know how you feel losing Parker. As a Tar Heel, we almost had Parker, but then it didn't work out. <img border="0" alt="[Bang Head]" title="" src="graemlins/banghead.gif" />
