per ESPN.com...
Mississippi State is hoping to beef up its schedule. Right now, the Bulldogs' best game at home is against Lafayette. The Bulldogs are looking at playing Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl Cl***ic in New Orleans.

Compared to who? Georgia Tech? We are playing Oregon as our opener, and have in years past played very strong non-conf opponents. We are in a strong conference, our only "tough" team is not "FSU". The SEC is strong from top to bottom. True we have UK and Vanderbilt, but those are essentially the only push overs in the conference. With the exception of recent events (Maryland and Clemson), the only difficult football team was FSU.

It'll take some time to sink in, but the ACC is no longer a joke in football. Even lowly Wake Forest isn't a push over anymore, knocking some bowl-bound teams last year on the way to a winning season.
Their last bowl appearance? Oh yea - they punked Arizona St. 28-0.
I would go on - but there isn't an SEC fan out there yet that'll believe it. That's what being drunk on the media will do to ya.
Anyways, the only fans still knocking on the ACC are SEC fans. And I think that's overwhelmingly due to rivalry between conferences.

Well actually.....Living in Austin, TX, the Big XII fans think that they are basically a one or two team conference. They (BIG XII) fans just don't have to contend with the ACC fans on their boards trying to convince them how good their conference really is.
Sorry...I really hate to sound like I am bashing, it just gets to me sometimes. When it comes to Basketball, I will whole heartidly admit that year in and year out and top to bottom, the ACC is better than the SEC. Personally, I think we are fairly even in Baseball, but when it comes to top to bottom conference football? I think the SEC is just a lot deeper than the ACC, and I am not the only one.
Here's a link.....

and the poll explanation....

While the ACC has 3 teams in the top 40, the SEC has 11. Hell, even Vandy and Kentucky are ranked ahead of MSU, but we are ahead of Ole Piss. <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" /> even if only by one. I hope you don't think of me as a *******, it just gets old arguing with ACC fans, and the basis of their argument is Florida State and what ever other team has been decent for the last couple of years.

i take full and complete offense to any statement categorically summarizing SEC fans in this such type of category as you have Jeremy.
Some of us have brains and a knowledge of sports. You just can't come to a miss stake board and expect this to be the place to receive such qualities.
There are plenty of us who acknowledge that the ACC is bigger and better than what it once was. Granted, there needs to be improvement. But, isn't that everywhere??
