We never even claimed to have any chance in hell at the Natl Ch. You guys came over here beating your chests because you're 4-0 and you've beaten two sh**ty teams out of the Big XII, big friggin' deal. And y'all think that you're not THAT far removed from the SEC, my a$$. Vandy would go undefeated every year in the MAC.
I wish BGSU would come to Oxford, or Baton Rouge, or Knoxville, or Gainseville, or Athens, or Columbia, or Auburn, or Tuscaloosa. Your players would lose control of their bodily functions as soon as they stepped out onto the field with any of us. I can't believe we have wasted good secbbs web space talking to a bunch of "little-big-men-syndrome" jocks from the MAC.
I tried to be nice and respectful and try and understand your ridiculously absurd pleas of "why aren't we ranked?", but now I'm over it. I'll tell you why you aren't ranked, because you are in the MAC, get it? The MAC. You guys keep saying that it is probably because you're in the MAC that you aren't ranked, well listen to yourselves because you're right!

Please tell me who Mississippi and Florida have played this year to make them sooo much better than BG? To argue about who is better is really stupid. These teams don't play each other and what the programs spend and take in are way different. Recruiting would be different for BG if they played in the SEC, because it is a better known conference. Much better fan support. Would this years team be able to compete in the SEC? I think so. I have watched BG play against Missouri and Ohio. And I have seen some of the teams from the SEC play.
Some facts about the Falcons:
Yes, they won a national championship at the small college level in 1959. This level included Ohio.U, Delaware,Southern Mississippi,Memphis, Louisiana Tech, and Louisville to name a few.
BG and the MAC went Major College in 1962.(division 1A as it is known today)
Doyt Perry coached BG from 1955 to 1964. Won 77, Lost 11, and Tied 4. 5 MAC championships and small college championship. Bo Schembechler was a Asst. Coach under Perry at BG in 1955. Bo still gives alot of credit to Doyt Perry for Bo's success at Michigan. There are others who made an impact in college football coaching ranks from BG.
Don Nelen, Jack Harbaugh, Dave Mclain, Larry Smith to name a few.
BG has beaten Purdue (17-14 in 1972)
Syracuse twice in the 70's
BYU in 1975
Southern Mississippi, Missouri(Three times),Northwestern, Temple,Fresno State,Kansas.
Close call with Ohio State 17-6 in 1992.
Overall record: W-434, L-289, T-52 Pct.594
Thanks for your time. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="smile.gif" />

Last message - I am not banging on Mississippi!
You guys have a bigger tradition than Bowling Green.
BUT BGSU is THE MOST UNDERRATED COLLEGE FB TEAM IN AMERICA, not Mississippi.
wasn't that the original point???
BTW - saying things like Vandy would go undefeated every year in the MAC shows a piss poor knowledge of college football, not claiming that BGSU would be competitive in the SEC this year.

I think BGSU has a very good team - and you are underrated. Sorry! Good Luck in the rest of the season. We don't get the respect we feel we deserve just like you don't. We will win games like last Saturday and then turn around a lose some of those that WE are favored in. That is called "inconsistant". Until we win with regularity against top caliber teams and/or win our division and play in the championship games, we will not get the acknowledgements from the commentators, news media, polls, general public, etc. We are moving (albeit slowly)toward regaining the "Tradition" and recognition that we once had.
We played against Pennington, Culpepper and Moss. We won.
Before OU won their last Nat'l Championship, we were the last team to beat them. (In a bowl game the previous Dec.) We beat our Conference Champions last year, own their home field, but we lost to Mississippi State and that was one of only three games they won. You have to be in the spotlight and win to really get recognition - not just be a flash in the pan.
Look at the NY Yankees - probably the most heralded baseball program EVER. Winners of 4 of the last 5 World Series (I think that's right.) The newspapers in NY City are calling them the Bronx Bums, today. Talk about "NO RESPECT!"
You have to grab the brass ring and hold on to it. What have you done for me - NOW!
Like I said, "good luck". And to quote the Arkansas A-hole we had for President, "I feel your pain." <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" />

Really, this is my last post on this thread, then I'm done with ya.
We have agreed that we are both underrated.
We think y'all haven't beaten anybody of merit. Y'all think we haven't beaten anybody of merit.
So, we agree there.
Otherwise, it just kills me when people come to our board, horn in on a thread, and then get defensive when WE start pointing out facts.
The facts are these:
We beat #6.
You didn't.
We're still basically unranked (#25 in one poll doesn't exactly count to me).
I think that sucks. I could give a **** less what the MACsters think.
Everybody clear now? Have a great day and good luck the rest of the way, Falcons. When you beat #6, be sure to come and rub it in my face. <img border="0" alt="[Cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/cheers.gif" />

I am sorry for not staying true to my word that may last post would be the final one...
I NEVER dissed Mississippi.
I just maintain that BGSU is more underrated.
I an not the jackhole who puts down the MAC when I didn't put down the SEC or the one who thinks that Vanderbilt (who can't beat MAC teams at home) would go UNDEFEATED IN THE MAC?
cut me a break. Beating florida was better than anything we have done this year, but we won't get a chance because of the friggin BCS.
