The United States of America has had a very diverse past. It has had so much of its history, that effects daily life, all of which has mostly occurred in the past fifty years or so. Some of those events have carried over into today. The Civil Rights Movement for instance, would be a great example of how the United States has thrived to fix a big problem. There have been many people that have tried to abolish prejudice in society, such as Martian Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, just to name a few. Those people tried so hard so that African Americans today, would be treated with as equals, the only problem is that not everyone felt the same way.
The entire Civil Rights Movement was triggered by two events: ___________. Those incidents were the ground breaking events, that would set off a ripple effect onto the United States.
In 1954, the Brown v. Board of Education, John Brown took on the Board of Education over the elimination of racial barriers in schools. Through that one case he managed to start a major up roar. It all started out as just a typical civil case until there was clear evidence of unjust acts happening. Brown felt that the acts occurring were so unjust. The fact that a child would be set apart from everybody else in a class, just because of his or her own skin color was very wrong. Because of that, Brown thought that something of that magnitude should receive national attention. He did in fact end up receiving the attention he was seeking for, thanks to the Supreme Court. He would be responsible for stating a revolution.
In the second incident, concerning Rosa Parks was also a leading cause in the Movement. She really captured the public eye of those in Montgomery, Alabama. She was nothing more than a seamstress. On December 1 1955, ___________. She was breaking the law, just because she would not give up her seat to another passenger. That led to her immediate arrest. To show their reaction, the black community performed a one-day local-boycott of the Montgomery public bus system.
