MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan baseball team is set to open the 2027 season with a trip to Las Vegas where it will take on UNLV in a four-game series from Feb. 19-21.

That series kicks off a 56-game schedule during which the Chippewas will face teams representing the Mountain West Conference, the Big South Conference, the Big Ten Conference, the Atlantic Sun Conference, the Atlantic Coast Conference, the Atlantic 10 Conference, the Horizon League, the Missouri Valley Conference, and the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

In addition to Las Vegas, the Chippewas will take early season trips to Clinton, S.C., where they will take on Presbyterian; to Holly Springs, N.C., where they will face Purdue in a neutral-site series; to Charlotte, N.C., to face Queens; and to Charleston, S.C. to square off with Charleston Southern.

CMU's home opener on Keilitz Field at Theunissen Stadium is scheduled for March 16 against UM-Dearborn.

The Chippewas are slated to open Mid-American Conference play at Akron March 19-21 and their MAC home opening weekend, versus Kent State, is set for March 25-27.

In addition to UM-Dearborn, the Chippewas will also face in-state rivals Western Michigan and Eastern Michigan in MAC series, along with nonleague games with Davenport, Oakland and Michigan State.

The Chippewas and Spartans are scheduled to play at Dow Diamond in Midland on April 28.

CMU will play 10 three-game MAC series for a total of 30 league games. Five of those series are scheduled for Mount Pleasant and five are slated for the road.

CMU's home MAC series: Kent State, March 25-27; Bowling Green, April 9-11; Miami (Ohio), April 23-25; UMass, May 7-9; Eastern Michigan, May 20-22. CMU's road MAC series: Akron, March 19-21; Ohio, April 2-4; Toledo, April 16-18; Ball State, April 30-May 2; Western Michigan, May 14-16.

The top six teams in the MAC standings will meet in the league tournament in Avon, Ohio, beginning on May 26.
