Republican gains were more among Latino men than women.

Thune seems to be the same kind of piece of s#it Cornyn was. If Cornyn hadn't opposed Trump on important issues, Senate would have gotten things done and there would have been no Paxton to contend with and give Trannyrico and undeserved opening. Trump's mouth didn't help, but this election loss is as much the RINOs fault who refused to cooperate and stick together as anyone's. Trump at least is authentically what he is. Cornyn, Thune and other RINOs like Kemp in GA (gave us Kelly Loeffler, whose unelectability gave us Osshuff and Warlocknoff) are lying fakes who don't mind being duplicitous--it's who they are naturally--and are as much to blame. They are pieces of dogdung, and that's being complimentary. RINOs suck.
What important issue did Cornyn oppose Trump on?
Kemp did stand up to Trump. He re-opened Georgia before Trump wanted to and Trump never forgave him for proving Trump wrong.
It was those MAGA flakes with their weird conspiracy theories on the election (instead of simply looking at fake absentee ballots) who told Republicans not to vote in the runoff who gave us Osoff and Warnock. Kelly wasn't particularly charismatic, but she was a LOT better candidate than Herschel or Collins. Note that Trump appointed Kelly as head of the SBA.
The RINOS are all those 10% who voted for Trump in 2024 who Vance said voted for Democrats in 2026.

Democrats
The Democratic party claims a deep bench. They can go a lot of ways depending on who best catches voters’ interest.
Kamala Harris is in a good position. She has spoken up for a number of candidates and is now in a position to collect IOUs from winners. She campaigns as much more her own person today than in 2024 and is aggressive about delivering.
If Harris gets the nomination, expect her to pick an up-and-coming millennial as running mate. Pete Buttigieg is reportedly high on the list. Jon Ossoff may be as well.
If Harris doesn’t close the sale as front runner, expect the nominee to be one of those up-and-coming millennials. Mayor Pete and Jon Ossoff enjoy strong support. Cory Booker campaigns well and could emerge from the pack. Still, as I say, the Democrats claim a deep bench.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is reportedly exploring a US senate run in 2028. She makes anyone’s short list for VP, along with the always-can-do Zohran Mamdani and, now, James Talarico.
If a Democrat wins the Oval Office in 2028, Jasmine Crockett becomes a strong possibility for US Attorney General.
----
Republicans
The likeliest GOP nominee is JD Vance, who may be running by then as a WH incumbent. (Keep an eye on how the 25th Amendment weather develops—especially between now and the third week of January.)
The strongest Republican candidate is a governor right now—someone with executive cred and regional popularity who is unconnected to the Trump administration. Several of these exist. The GOP governor with the highest approval numbers is Phil Scott of Vermont:
![[Image: phil-scott.jpg]](https://contactgovernor.com/vermont/phil-scott/phil-scott.jpg)
Approval numbers are a helpful thing for a GOP contender to have.
Marco Rubio is in the mix but the Iran and Russia debacles may have dented his chances beyond repair.
Ted Cruz and Ron DeSantis are, sadly, autocrat wannabes who want in on Stephen Miller’s Project 2025 action. Fortunately, both are also longer shots. If Democrats keep half of their current mojo, the ability of either to carry even his home state is far from a sure bet.
Mike Johnson should emerge from the Trump Trainwreck with most body parts intact. He becomes a solid possibility for a Cabinet position if he decides he is done as a legislative creature.
Hegseth, RFK jr & cohorts will sink like rocks in history.

Hilarious!!!!!!!
Harris and AOC? Like Biden? Newsom? The Democrats have been running a bunch of incompetent clowns. There is nobody decent among the Democrats who is talking about running.
The competent Democrats (Warner, Cooper) seem to have no interest in the White House. Maybe they have no interest in dealing with the kooks who are activists in the party.
This sounds like something written by Vox.

The war is really not a problem. Its the economic consequences of the war that are the issue. i.e., 1) conflicts with 2) and 3).
