Our tanks are getting empty
The Strategic Petroleum Reserve is now lower than any time since an October of 1982, the Department of Energy reports. That’s back to when it was still being built up in the first place.
https://oilprice.com/Energy/Crude-Oil/Ho...ly-Go.html
All of these releases and we haven’t been able to keep costs down at all. We have been releasing hundreds of thousands of barrels a day for months.
We are having to reimburse farmers for their high fuel costs to try to subsidize food costs to control inflation, but we have to borrow the money to pay them, so end up making things worse.
We really are spiraling. We cant afford anything anymore.
It’s just borrow, borrow, borrow, and keep passing the buck

And how many times have you mentioned this same debt issue in here? We all know it already. You don't have to remind us every day.

Sadly, yes, you do need reminding every day...of the disastrous decisions and policies of this current administration.

Good thing Trump is eliminating the main sponsor of terrorism so that we’ll not need to use it.

Exactly.
Every single problem that Trump has to deal with was created by Biden's people.
Biden was too mentally incompetent to be aware of what was going on.

Complete fan fiction.
For starters, the SPR isn't a "tank farm!" Perhaps stick with things you know, like the definition of Posit or the difference between word find and spell check? Oh...wait...
The underground salt caverns which store the oil have not been damaged due to being "overdrawn." That's not a thing.
The caverns were built between 1975 and 1991 and were designed to have a life of around 25-30 years and "survive" 5 full draw downs. And they've seen dozens of large and small releases over the past 40 years...many before Biden. They have been a maintenance issue for years now, for many presidents.
Lastly The GAO found that most caverns were in "very good condition" after the 2022 drawdown.
Quote:Cavern integrity and availability. The SPR caverns that were built by
DOE were designed to be geomechanically stable for up to five full
drawdowns. Repeated partial drawdowns followed by refill can leach a
single part of a cavern repeatedly, leading to undesirable shapes. After
Congress directed DOE to begin conducting regular non-emergency
mandated sales from the SPR starting in 2017 to help manage the federal
budget, DOE tasked Sandia to provide a yearly update on the number of
drawdowns each cavern had remaining since the caverns were being
used regularly to withdraw crude oil. In May 2025, Sandia reported that
the majority of the SPR’s caverns (47 of 60—about 78 percent) had at
least four remaining available drawdowns as of the end of calendar year
2024, and all but one cavern had at least one remaining available
drawdown.
In its assessment of the impact of the 2022 drawdown, Sandia found that
it impacted the SPR’s caverns in the expected way (e.g., expended
drawdowns and cavern volume increase) and left the majority of the
caverns in very good condition. Further, Sandia experts told us that the
large-scale 2022 drawdown improved the shape of some caverns (e.g.,
by removing some salt bridges) that had only experienced partial
drawdowns before then. However, every drawdown cycle expands cavern
volume and reduces the spacing between caverns within the salt dome,
which ultimately reduces their long-term viability.

We covered this back in 2022. Biden started the releases to deal with Covid lag along with Russia invading Ukraine in February.
Biden started the releases on March 1, 2022, a full 8 months before the mid-terms.
Correlation does not imply causation. So again, another logical fallacy.

We also need to be reminded of how much worse it was under biden and how terrible it would have been had Trump not won. The last administration tried to destroy things with that stupid open border invasion of the country by illegals from everywhere that they promoted. How many billions of dollars has that costs us already, not to mention all of the other negatives associated with it?

Yes, allowing the Russian invasion of Ukraine. That's another in a very long line of biden's "accomplishments" that have costs this country billions if not trillions of dollars. What an awful administration that was.
The last two Democrat administrations have allowed Russia to invade Ukraine. Either that or Putin knows that it is much easier to do so when they are in charge.

I think it’s pretty safe to say both Presidents Biden and Trump, or their Administrations, have utilized the SPR, lashed out at the oil & gas industry for price gouging and “making too much profit”, and encouraged other counties to release some of their reserves in an attempt to cull American answer at the party currently in power (theirs).
One main difference in how the two behaved, though, is one campaigned attacking the industry to get elected, and the other did. One put a moratorium on new Federal actions on Federal lands right after taking office, even if just for 60 days and even if it really was just all smoke and mirrors for the enviro-commie base, and the other didn’t.
But their administrations both of used the U.S. SPR in order to play politics and help election/re-election chances of their allies.
Now, though…supposedly the Trump Administration set guidelines for these releases that the original grantee of those barrels replaces them by a future date with a 20% or 25% premium in quantity.

Correct. The releases by the administrations were not the same.
Biden's was a sale and trumps was a lease/loan.
Both don't know hardly anything about O&G. The only recent president who did was Shrub.
