RE: Rice vs McClennan Exhibition
Offense was pretty anemic in game one. Webb (3 hits) and Davis (2 hits and a line out) were the only ones who hit the ball hard.

Even though it didn’t meet the definition of a walk-off HR, it does sound like a fantastic finish to salvage the result.

But then I started to wonder… in a scrimmage is it even possible to hit a walk-off HR?

(Keep in mind that I believe they play 3 outs for both teams each inning regardless of who’s leading)

I actually have a scenario in mind for a walk-off scrimmage-game winning HR… if nobody guesses it by later tonight I’ll post my answer.

I didn’t see.

But my walk-off HR hypothetical / thought experiment was another apparent 3 run HR breaking a tie in the bottom of the final inning of the day. Runner on first misses third base, and after all three runners cross the plate, the appeal to third results in the third out and one (at least one) of the 3 runs not scoring. Not sure whether the batter still scores (and if it’s scored officially as a hr at that point) but I’d guess that the HR would count and be scored as such.

Owls came back in the 2nd 7 to win 4-3 on a 2-rbi single by Robson in the B6.

Woo hoo!

By my count that would make us an unofficial 5-0-1 in the six exhibitions that I’ve seen mentioned here.

I prefer 3-0 in three 14 inning exhibitions.
