Post week 7 power rankings
1. Ohio- as they get more healthy and have a transitive win over CMU... you can make a case for OU #1. I think theyre more dynamic than WMU on offense therefor have more paths to victory vs. any random team in the MAC.
2. WMU- the win over UB is aging well, and a rivalry road win is huge. Can they score enough to take down Toledo on the road?
3. UB- have the win over UT, and close loss to WMU. Kind of dont care about the non con as the MAC season rolls thru, and we see how these teams have changed since September.
4. Toledo- Get right spot vs. EMU. Just lost 2 rbs for hopefully not much time, but thats 900 yards and 13 TDs on the ground they may or may not have this week? Zock on D is making his case for DPOY.
5. Miami- havent played much meat in the league yet. Did their job vs. Akron who appears to be close to dead.
6. EMU- I guess theyre on a bowl path, but no more home games for a while and Ohio looming could spell another promising season dashed.
7. CMU- br00tal schedule so far. Fought til the end vs. WMU. The game at Ford Field will be important.
8. UMass- now needs to get hot to get to 7 wins. Im not sure who I would take if they played Kent State or CMU. This cluster is super close.
9. Kent- almost went up 9-0 instead it was a bad luck play that hampered any momentum.
10. BG- maybe because of the USF result you could argue BG is a higher than KSU? But home vs. away, and that loss this week stings when you had Luster burried...
11. BSU- Chippy team. It feels like Ball State may have just started a natural rivalry with BG who they dont play nearly as often as they should.
12. Akron- Morehead may be done. They're not healthy but no one is right now. Same old same old.
13. Sac- big rivalry game this week! Rimshot

I don't think Akron can afford to buyout Joe while also paying another coach. Also, I don't really have any faith things would change even if they did come up with the money for a buyout. Akron's struggles run much deeper than the head coach.

Good to see UB moving up your ladder. Burch at RB is balling out. He's another guy taking advantage of the starter getting injured...as has Jason Wright (QB). The Bulls defense is the better, more experienced unit so it's good to see them causing problems for the other MAC teams. Some new guys subbing in for injured players are performing well.

One thing I was way off base on was Sacramento State. I thought they had some decent west coast talent...and they would come in right away and compete with the middle of the pack MAC teams. They aren't even competitive. Hopefully it's just the first season of finding their way.

I should note that while Ohio beat CMU easier than WMU did, WMU beat Kent State much easier than Ohio did.

Good point. I think Nebraska is better than Michigan. JSU and USA are better than Rice. Boise is the best non con obviously but it wasnt a competitive game. Most people have WMU 1st. Computers have Toledo or WMU first. Like I said I trust Ohios offense to find ways to put points on the board while WMU is 1 dimensional and can be had in more situations. Then again WMUs D is very good so debate on!

True, but of course we also have to consider our starting QB Poulos was still sidelined with a head injury for Kent State and then returned for CMU and he seems to be playing better since his return. He came out hot against CMU and threw for 3 TDs.

Ohio doesn't have #2 WMU or #3 Buffalo on the schedule so it will probably be down to the Miami and Toledo games (as expected) to see if the Bobcats can earn a 7th appearance to the tile game in Detroit.

Erase that signature... Toledo ain't going to the Horizon in basketball and to play with UTEP and Hawaii in football. We do better here AND are getting a new deal next summer. American or PAC12 maybe, but we declined the MWC with a travel partner 1 year ago. Nothing has changed besides NDSU is there to whoop us now, and thats the only team worth even wanting to be in a league with.

UofToledoFans have 3 games circled to make it happen. Pains me to decline an offer to fly to Bowling Green, which could be the exciting win and being bowl eligible. Akron and Ball State are the other 2 wins at home game and think we will have Pop back.
