Exactly. There is a reason they didnt actually do anything other than "get close".

They didn’t do anything other than “get close” when they dumped fuel all over the US spy drone and crashed it into the Black Sea either.

There went the $30 million we borrowed to pay for it. Now, like the US economy, that drone is under water too lol.

And the US did a big fat nothing about it.

Absolutely nothing.

And there’s a reason we did nothing…

Meh, if we're going to rename it just go with "Number 47". That's got a double meaning to it.

So the Russians can do what the Houthies can do. Im so impressed. I'd note we are still flying dones and intelligence aircraft in that area and the Russians arent touching them. I wonder why?

That said, the problem with those big Globalhawk/Predator style drones is well known. They were built for the war on terror where we completely controlled the skies. Its hardly news that they are utterly useless in any peer to peer kenetic situation. Thats why we arent buying any new ones. Those older drone systems are being replaced by more modern stealth drones that should be more survivable in contested air situations. My guess is in the relatively near future----much of intelligence gathering will eventually be moving away from these big expensive drone platforms---replacing them with lots of smaller much cheaper attritable mass produced drones that can replace these systems in the aggregate.

RE: Russian satellite makes a friendly visit
The funny part is, we are still paying interest on the money we borrowed for that drone, and will be for a long, long, long time.

Ditto for our satellites, whether they receive Russian visitors not.

Anyway, the US found out what happens when you invade Russian air space, and now stay hundreds of miles away.

And Ukraine is finding out what happens when they misbehave. We get grumpy when we’re broke, so they shouldn’t demand so much money to fight our war for us.
