The Kremlin responds to Ukraine president’s call for 60 day pre election truce
“If Kiev genuinely wants to hold elections, then the president of the Russian Federation… will be ready to issue an order not to carry out strikes against Ukraine on the election day specifically,” the spokesman stated.

“They don’t actually want to hold elections in Kiev; that is absolutely obvious. And they need a 60-day ceasefire not to hold elections, but to regroup, recover from their losses, and continue the war.”

RE: The Kremlin responds to Ukraine president’s call for 60 day ceasefire
Like Ive said 100 times before----the main obstacle to peace in Ukraine is Russia. Its Russia's elective expansionist war. All Russia need do to reach a peaceful conclusion is stop invading its neighbor. The only way Russia negotiates a reasonable compromise peace both sides can live with is when its made clear they cant get everything they want on the battlefield. I think that realization likely cant happen until indigenous domestically designed and produced Ukrainian ballistic missiles are landing in Moscow nightly. Ballistic missile strikes are likely going start regularly occurring late this fall to early next year---but it will be a while before anything close to nightly attacks occur. I dont think the Kremlin will be all that interested in reasonable compromise---despite its recent battlefield set backs---until we see the kind of ballistic missile strikes Im talking about. Interestingly, for the most part, the West couldnt provide this kind of missile to Ukraine even if they wanted to. The West really doesnt produce that kind of longer range conventional ballistic missile with a 300-1000 mile range.
