Did gerrymandering hurt?
https://pollvault.substack.com/p/did-re-...ually-hurt

Analysis suggests that gerrymandering may have saved a couple Republican seats in Utah and may have cost the Democrats a seat in California. The North Carolina debacle might have occurred anyway. Texas didn't make much difference.

At least for this cycle, which was a bad one for Republicans.

RE: Did gerrymandering hurt?
It didn’t help.

04-cheers

Many of the races won by Democrats on Tuesday night put them in office through the next census in 2030. That’s big.

Opportunity exists to craft districts through 2040 and, better, pass new laws governing how districts are drawn.

It’s not really difficult to create sensible district lines. Some states appoint nonpartisan committees (IRCs, or Independent Redistricting Commissions) to craft them. Computers easily help such committee by constructing models based on neighborhood rather than party. And any state can make it law to do things this way.

This. Though including my county in with eastern Harris County didn't help us at all.
