Reality
1. $175 million budget deficit

2. No new taxes budget

3. $50 million cut in government services but increase for more policemen due to rising crime and open air drug markets

4. No new homeless shelters under construction. Goal now 1,000 over two years.

5. After murder of two high school students and resulting public outcry, the mayor now wants to expand the camera network - orange man bad notwithstanding.

Well I’m disappointed…
I was hoping the headline was of the result of the mayor being affected by one of her crazy policies.

Like being the victim of a carjacking or mugging with no police being available to respond so they sent her a social worker in a dress and size 12 heels named Bobby.



The only thing that will “fix” this problem is the elites of the Democrat Party in Blue cities experiencing what the peasants and commoners living under their tyranny experience.

Had to be expected given she was nothing more than an activist prior to being elected. She has no clue whatsoever on how to run/manage a city.

Sounds as if the woman might be realizing her original goals and plans were absurd.

Let's hope the reality of the situation forces her to stay focused with practical leadership — and not crazy socialist ideas and policies.

The problem with socialism is that it's really easy to leave a city, which makes the supply of other people's money very fragile.

San Francisco is an example. A compact city, the wealthy areas and wealthy people like Nancy Peloisi cannot easily evade the consequences (e.g., crime and homelessness) of inane and destructive Dem policies.

So SF took action. Starting in 2024, a new plan tore down visible street homelessness/encampments, improved accountability for service providers, and promoted cleaner streets. Now downtown is walkable and safe.

Dems talk a good game, but do not want their own quality of life degraded anymore than the stoutest conservative. The difference between the average American and wealthy Dems is the rich hypocrites can do something to fix the problem.

I have a friend who lives in San Fran and who says there have been some noticeable improvements. Here is an article from 2024 when, as you note, the effort to clean up the city began.
