Central Michigan is playing pretty well right now, and I could definitely imagine an upset in Athens. But I know that's been a difficult place for Bowling Green to play over the years, and that's a long bus ride from Mt. Pleasant.

Ohio has its staring QB back for this game who has been out since week 2. Running backs are also no longer injured.

Yes, thanks to the Bobcats for allowing that game to be closer than it should have been, I just wish it would have been enough for us to land a second "starting QB out" win.

It was a good road test as expected last week for Ohio. The trend of the last couple of games is encouraging. Defense the last two games has only given up an average of 8.5ppg and special teams has looked the best it has since the portal. Injuries are also trending in the right direction with starting QB and RB back for the offense.

This week is homecoming for Ohio so its going be a great crowd. Additionally Ohio has the 2nd longest home winning streak at 15 on the line. Indiana is #1 at 19 and the following week they host Ohio State. If Ohio defeats CMU for its 16th in a row at home (26 of last 27) and Indiana loss it will have the nations longest home winning streak right in Athens.

CMU has a chance for sure at the upset, particularly if they can make big plays through the air. But I don't think I would put my money on CMU as the Bobcats are gaining momentum and have a lot on the line this week.

This could happen.

Yup.

We've looked like poop the past few games. Can't really blame a UM hangover anymore, that's getting pretty far back in the rear view mirror. Unless we flip a switch, we aren't anywhere as good as we thought we were a few weeks ago.
Nope, I see a breakout, blow game here. I am normally conservative, but I see a blow out game here as WMU sheds its conservative game and runs away with the score. The offence roles while the D dominates - 52-10 WMU

That's what I'm thinking. There is more then a possibility WMU offense is crap & KSU wins a slog, it happens, but we seem to do well vs KSU recent & it's at home. I also think WMU wins comfortably.

RE: 2026 Week 6 Prediction Thread
SAC @ BGSU - Was that BG’s yearly upset under George, or will last week’s win become a momentum boost? I still think BG is lacking in certain areas, but they should have enough firepower to take down SS.

BSU @ NU - Blowout on the way.

M-OH @ UMass - An argument could be made for this game being a good bounce back spot for both teams. I’m going with Miami due to the Chuck Martin, MAC, variable.

EMU @ UA - There is no good reason why Akron should win this game. Which is also why I’m picking Akron, as this seems like the perfect trap week for EMU.

BUF @ TOL - Buffalo played their best game of the season last week. I doubt it happens again. Toledo by a lot.

CMU @ OHIO - Going with the home team.

KSU @ WMU - WMU has been playing with fire lately. Kent is scrappy enough to pull off an upset, but I doubt it’ll happen.

RE: 2026 Week 6 Prediction Thread
My LATE picks, missing ones that started:

NIXED/FAILED:
Sac State vs Bowling Green (I woulda picked BGSU, and they have solid lead early 2nd half)
Ball State vs Northwestern (I woulda picked Northwestern obviously, who's whipping BSU lol)

MY LEGIT PICKS QUICK (bold is my pick, underline is my odds-winners):

Miami vs UMass
Eastern vs Akron
Buffalo vs Toledo
Central Michigan vs Ohio
Kent State vs Western Michigan

SAC @ BGSU: The Falcons got off the schneid with an impressive final drive to beat a perennial contender in Miami. BG led most the game and was rewarded with the victory. That said, the Hornets were able to rest, hopefully fix the issues that plagued them the past three weeks. Will it be enough? Hornets go into BG and steal a win. SAC 24, BGSU 21

BSU @ NU: The Wildcats opened new Ryan Field in style, racking up over 300 yds in rushing against State Penn. The Cardinals, came crashing back down to earth against Toledo at home. Another pay day for BSU = loss. NU 42, BSU 10

M-OH @ UMass: Oh what could have been for this week! Instead, its two teams licking their wounds from epic home losses. For the M-men, it was a sellout at McGuirk and majority of those fans won't be back this week. However, the Hawks down to their 3rd string QB won't be able to keep pace with Pop Watson. UMass 34, M-OH 17

EMU @ UA: Who'd a thunk that EMU is leading the MAC at 2-0 right now? Well they are and are the early frontrunners to playing in Detroit for the second time this year. Akron, well, again, they are a soccer school. EMU 41, UA 10

BUF @ TOL: Toledo went to Muncie and left no doubt how strong they are already at 4-1 on the year, and easily could be 5-0 if they hadn't folded late in East Lansing. Buffalo looked absolutely lost against WMU when they could have won. Rockets in a rout here at home! TOL 35, BUF 3

CMU @ OHIO: Chips zipped on by on Homecoming this past Saturday. Was that really the team against Akron that had the preseason hype or the team that barely eeked out a win against Colgate and somewhat Wyoming? Ohio went into the NE part of the state and beat a surging Kent team. I think CMU is the better team here in a close one. CMU 21, OHIO 17

KSU @ WMU: Western is definitely "4-1" and got back on track in Western NY this past weekend, although barely. The Flashes showed brilliance in the loss to Ohio at home, but they are definitely in the third tier of the league. Broncos roll at Waldo. WMU 38, KSU 21

Tough season for the Hornets. It will be interesting to see if they have a strong home field advantage at home, although Ohio looked tough last weekend.

We don't have a QB, it's very likely we won't see another win this season.
