Are you suggesting I'm like the Down syndrome child about whom nobody would have the heart to be critical or dismissive?

RE: Calm Before the Calm
Climate change is as old as this planet.... It is certainly possible that humans have a tiny tiny fraction of influence on it, but a single volcano puts more into the air than 100 years of car emissions in a matter of minutes.
It as not climate change, it is planetary evolution.

That's one way to look at it.

Bill Syndrome-Down suggests a nefarious science fiction character.

I might be mis-looking, E-Nabe, but I see that the global average surface temperatures have risen about 2 degrees Fahrenheit (1 degree Celsius) since the late 19th century. If that is accurate (again, it might be wrong) that seems like a "climate change."
However, I can understand the argument that, as you note, the planet is evolving (though evolution involves change in a sense).
Many people (including conservatives) agree there are changes with the Earth's climate. The question is whether the changes are due to humans, the planet's natural evolution/cycles ... or a combo of both.

The Earth’s climate changes. Duh. It has since the beginning of time. It will till the end of time. It’s nothing but a libtard tactic to blame that on man.

And a major reason (other than make grifters like Gore wealthy) they create a crisis is to enact policies and laws otherwise unacceptable to the American people absent the whip of fear.

Of course climate has changed over and over throughout the history of the Earth, but yes, anyone who thinks 7 billion idiots running around doing the things we do has no effect on the planet leads the 7 billion idiots on how to be an idiot.

I believe climate change is partly due to humans.

RE: Calm Before the Calm
I'm sure we have some small effect, yes. I can tell you for a fact though, should we kill off our species entirely Mother Earth will have forgotten us in a hundred years, as if we'd never been here. The sheer amount of work I have to go through every year to keep my 15 acres from getting completely overgrown convinces me of this. It never ends. Cover it all with concrete like in the big cities and maybe that takes 200 years. It will still happen.
