Boise State Controls Its CFP Destiny
After showing we can hang with the best teams in the country by putting a major scare into the Ducks on the road, Boise State has set itself up nicely for a playoff run. We scheduled two of our greatest competitors for the G6 spot.

Next week, 2-0 Memphis comes to The Blue as one of the AAC's favorites, sporting a dangerous defensive line. The Broncos just faced the vaunted Oregon front that features 4 NFL prospects who all opted to return to college for a national championship run. Considering how the Bronco O-line held up yesterday, I like our chances against the Tigers.

The next significant OOC challenge is against the "other" Broncos in Kalamazoo. Western Michigan was unlucky not to come out of Ann Arbor with a W. They are a veteran team coming off a 10-4 season and a MAC championship....and the MAC earned some marginal respect this year when their bottom feeder, UMass, took the Big Ten's bottom feeder, Rutgers, to the woodshed.

If Boise State wins those games against Memphis and Western Michigan, and can do in the new PAC-12 what it's done in the MWC, things set up nicely for a return to the CFP.

GO BRONCOS!

Hard to disagree with anything you said. Still a long way to go from here, obviously we will all know more in a couple weeks, but you guys surely got some attention yesterday. Your close call will be seen better than WMU’s stolen win because the PAC is seen as being better than the MAC. But the MAC should have had two wins over the B1G this week, and that can’t be overlooked.

About as good as Boise State could have hoped for in its non-conference results. Week-to-week in the PAC-12 will not be a walk in the park, though. The new iteration of league play begins with the Aggies on The Blue. The Fighting Mendenhals stumbled out of the gate, but showed they can hang with Washington. Boise State has been a machine on offense all year long though, and its defense nearly held a decent Western Michigan scoreless. It's a long march to the CFP, but the Broncos clearly lead the G6 heading into conference play.

Hoping the Ducks, Tigers, and "other" Broncos show up at the top of their conference standings to legitimize the good start Boise State has posted.

Boise doing well will help the new PAC, in the long run. We need high profile teams, and results, to get us going and helping the conference to coalesce. IOW - sets a standard for the other teams to work towards.
It's a good thing, but may take time for everyone to catch up.

This is exactly why Boise State left the MWC--we want a stronger league propelling us forward instead of dragging us down. Potential is there, but mixed bag in the rebuilt PAC-12's first year. SDSU has really struggled, and the others have been up and down. Was hoping we'd dominate outside of the P4 games, but that didn't happen this year. Really need to separate next year and beyond.
