The Pelicans move their G-League affiliate from Jefferson County, Alabama to Jefferson Parrish, Louisiana:

RE: Birmingham Squadron relocate to Kenner
The NBA has really botched what the G-league could have been. I would have had the league centrally control where the teams were going to be located, because it could have become a valuable connection point to professional basketball for about 30 cities that don't already have it. But instead, it's become basically just a series of scrimmages for the "second team" somewhere in the home market of the parent franchise (in many, though not all cases).

The Mad Ants in Fort Wayne is what it should look like. Or the Charge in Canton. Or the 66ers in Tulsa.

A nearish city that is a legitimate market of its own. I love that the Clippers moved their team to San Diego. Think about the kinds of markets that have AAA baseball teams (assuming they don't have the NBA already, which some of them do. Imagine G-league teams in these AAA baseball cities...

Buffalo, Raleigh-Durham, Jacksonville, Lehigh Valley area, Norfolk, Rochester, Scranton, Syracuse, Louisville, Nashville, Omaha, Toledo, Albuquerque, El Paso, Reno, Tacoma

I have to say that I’m disappointed with the direction the G League has taken too. I loved the concept of bringing professional teams to smaller markets near the parent club.
