Tarleton went 2-1 with wins over Sam Houston and Denver before losing to A&M Corpus. Interestingly outside of PVAM, Corpus is the lowest evolle ranked team they have played. Its been a challenging schedule.

Per the team notes on todays match with Texas Tech-

TOUGH TESTS
Tarleton State Volleyball has challenged itself with its non-conference schedule, especially early on in the season.
The Texans have played two teams that were receiving votes in the AVCA Top 25 Polls (Arizona and Rice), with both matches played on the road.
Tarleton State has five opponents in its non-conference slate that finished in the top 100 in the NCAA's RPI Rankings last year (UCSB, Arizona, Rice, North Texas, West Virginia).
The Texans have three 2025 NCAA Tournament teams on its schedule (Arizona, Rice, Central Arkansas). Arizona and Rice both advanced in the big dance a year ago.
Three of those matches are against Power 4 conference opponents (Arizona, Texas Tech, West Virginia). It is the most matches against Power 4 conference competition since the program became a Division I school.

Yeah cant explain that last one other than Corpus runs a very unique speed of volleyball, they are fast to pass to setter. Either way that was a head scratcher. Denver was a solid win and Sam had been on a hot start.

Tarleton loses to Texas Tech 3-1.

Interesting note about the match, Tech fired their HC on Sunday even with a 6-2 record. They were 10-20 last year and the HC was in the last year of his contract.

Correct- they were primed for upset. The change brought out over 2k students apparently which was a record. Tarleton played well for about a set and a half, won first 25-14 and had a big lead in set 2. After that it was a struggle, not sure how to explain it. Need to get healthy before conference.

the lady mavs are 21-15 against tech. ahh for the good old days.

^Fun fact, UTA has beaten UT-Austin 20 times in 48 tries. There are only two schools the teasips have lost to more. They are 12-25 to Stanford and 79-25 to Texas A&M.

Now UTA hasn't beaten them since 1989 in the NCAA tourney on their way to the Final Four, but still.

After being swept by Oklahoma, ACU sweeps LA Tech 3-0.

Defeats Presbyterian 3-0

Lions lost three on the road this week against FSU and two to Liberty for a 10-3 non-conference record. They begin conference play on the 24th hosting ACU.

Cats now sit at 7-4 after beating PVAM 3-1. Next up is SFA this afternoon.

the lady Mavs came back to beat the Ragin Cajuns 3-2 yesterday. not doing so well against Miss. State right now tho.

Tarleton goes 1-2 at North Texas.

Loses 3-0 to North Texas and West Virginia.
Wins 3-1 over East Texas A&M.

The Cats go to 8-4 after beating SFA earlier today 3-1.

Yeah, I think we will wind up at the bottom of the conference this year.

We won't be bottom, but the UAC lacks a clear bottom like Southern Utah in the WAC. TSU dominated us last year but last night, other than that first set, we hung in there. Our setter was also missing. We'll get some wins before UAC play is over.

What was the story on UTAs setter? Broadcast mentioned the Texans are have been without two starters all season, setter and libero which are critical. Made it seem like both were close to returning though.

I’m not sure. I was just watching and realized she wasn’t there. Then at the end of the 2nd or start of the 3rd, the TSU guys said the same thing.
