RE: Batholomae to MSU?
MSU is such a rats nest. I can't remember another AD who left there and worked again. Seems like a payday for your last job type spot. Then again there are only so many SEC B1G jobs to be had.

RE: Batholomae to MSU?
As I've said before, and others have noted, the MSU and U-M jobs are so toxic right now. Unless your goal is to make a boat load of money in the immediate term, these jobs are not worth it. Both schools have been riddled with scandals. If Dan is smart, and all indications are that he is, he'll stay far away...

Expect his name to come up for any major AD spot that opens, especially in the midwest. Doesn't mean there's smoke though.

Hearing he’s a finalist for the MSU job. Possibly between him and the current interim AD.

You can’t turn down a BIG AD job. Those guys got it made. A lot of perks on top of huge salaries.

RE: Batholomae to MSU?
Hope it isn't Dan B. But yeah, whether it's a coach or AD, they typically don't turn down the huge leap in salary and prestige, no matter how much the program is in disarray. Plus they can consider it a low bar to pass (i.e., nowhere to go but up).

If I'm a B1G president looking for an AD, why not check out Miami's guy too. They won both the Reese and Jacoby awards this past year.

RE: Batholomae to MSU?
The incompetent MSU board of directors should scare every decent AD candidate away.

My bet is Dan will still be at WMU to enjoy his most prestigious accomplishment, the building of the DWTN arena

Unfortunately, I’m thinking there’s some real fire to go along with the smoke of the Dan B. to MSU rumors. Listened to Graham Couch’s Lansing podcast from Friday and the “Dan rumor” was mentioned a few times as a very realistic possible hire. Hoping it doesn’t happen but it certainly wouldn’t be surprising at this point.

It's possible. But my opinion is we are too low for MSU. They're in the tier that can steal from lower-rung P4 teams.

Dan is one of the best AD's in the country regardless of school size. Remember he was the only G5 finalist for AD of the year. MSU would be lucky to get him.

Link?

He would be a great hire for them.

But MSU has a history of going through ADs at an alarming rate.

Yeah, my sources keep getting more confident that Dan is headed to MSU. I'm hearing it from multiple directions. Still not calling it a done deal until something official comes out but this feels like it's got legs. Regardless, it just solidifies that Dan has done a lot of great things at WMU and it does not go unnoticed.

RE: Batholomae to MSU?
DB's only real stain is ironically the Stephens hire (something even us message board peons were skeptical about from the jump), which I'm sure he needed to explain away during those MSU interviews seeing how crucial the heir-apparent hire to Izzo will be. That said, I'm feeling good vibes about the Fennell hire.

Kavalhuna bleeds brown and gold and I have faith in him to make the right decisions on his replacement.

It's just the way of the MAC, we only enjoy up and comers for a finite period of time. And if we make another nice football run, Taylor is good as gone too.

He wouldn’t need to explain away Stephen’s, he was doing izzo a personal favor.

Eh. First hire as new AD. Stevens was the safe choice.

Welp, now I'm hearing from another source that is a little more "in the know" and he says it's not a done deal.
