PITTSBURGH -- — Cruz Davis scored a career-high 36 points on 14-of-25 shooting with five 3-pointers and Hofstra was in control most of the way in beating Pitt 80-73 on Sunday.

It was the first meeting between the two teams.

Davis added seven assists and his 14 baskets were nearly half of Hofstra's total as it shot 53% (29 of 55). Victory Onuetu was the only other Pride (6-4) player in double figures with 10 points.

Hofstra won 70-69 at Syracuse.

Wow
An Elon MBB lost by 1 on OT to Virginia Tech, so that was almost another CAA over ACC upset. It's crazy how all of the by CAA wins came against just one of the power conferences.

To be fair, some of it comes down to us having more games against the ACC than any other conference. We cover pretty much the same territory, aside from the ACC's nonsensical Texas and California outposts. Still, it is good to see us getting wins and not just serving as a punching bag.

EDIT: The men are 2-10 against the ACC and 0-11 against other power conferences. The women are 4-7 against the ACC and 1-13 against other power conferences (SBU win over Rutgers). So, we are doing better against the ACC than the other power conferences, lucky for us that we have so many games against them!
