Iran is not unlike the U.S. Their population is split between those that want radical change and those that like what they have. There were also massive gatherings over the death of their leader.

Whatever happens will not be pretty. They have some ugly times to get through.

Kuwait isn't very well prepared. They (or American bases) shot down 6 of our F-15s yesterday. Somebody needs to be court-martialed over that. All the crews survived.

Kuwaitl air defenses shot them down. Fox just said it was 3 fighter jets, not 6, but 6 crew members total. All safe.

How and why are we going to "court-martial" Kuwaitis who are trying to help us?

Sh!t happens in war. I lost my best childhood friend to "friendly fire" in Nam. Nobody was court-martialed.

Pretty sure our pilots knew exactly where those surface air missiles were coming from and they were like are you ******* kidding me?

I hope there's a special ribbon for successfully ejecting when your knucklehead allies don't know what they're shooting at.

It was never undefeated against surface-to-air defense weapons. It was (and still is) undefeated in air-to-air combat. From what I understand, those planes should have been squawking in IFF scrambled mode and they typically are flying in certain pre-determined returning air corridors (which also helps to identify friendlies from bad guys). I wonder if there was some sort of issue with the Kuwaiti air defense system properly receiving that scrambled IFF signal. I could see one IFF being faulty---but not three on one mission. Sadly, like TripleA pointed out---the military is working with very lethal equipment---and bad stuff can happen when mistakes are made in the heat of military operations. Something like air defense unfolds very quickly with decisions being forced into a very time compressed window (which is one reason why mistakes can happen).

Russia and China must be shocked and dismayed by the utter destruction of their military systems.

US bases in Jordan and Kuwait were hit today. We obviously haven't killed enough Iranians yet.

Were any of those systems new, or are all of them decades old? I'm guessing if anything Russia is more dismayed about the performance of newer gear in Ukraine than decades old hardware in Iran.

We aren't seeing current Chinese weapons yet. We may soon.

Much if what Iran had was new, from what I heard.

Whatever they are they didn't seem to work very well against IDF F-35I stealth fighters using jammers and missiles from 100 miles out. 100 aircraft with 100 munitions.

They literally stayed 100 miles from the Iranian air defense batteries before firing.

Since I believe fully in what the Bible says is coming, I have no expectation that Iran/Persia will become a true ally ever. No matter how this shakes out they will still align with Russia in the last war and still invade Israel from the north along with several others.

That book has got everything else right up to now, so I fully expect it to finish just as foretold 2500 years ago.

That is not to say I am not happy about the fall of the regime, just saying I don't think we are going to get the happy ending we want. Particularly long term.
