UConn had the longest winning streak of any Big East team this year. 18 games. That was broken a couple of weeks ago by St. John’s who now has the longest current winning streak of any team in the conference at 12 games.

Villanova's hot, having won six in a row. If they beat UConn on Saturday, that would only further cement that fact. But the bottom eight all seem to lose inexplicable games at times, although any of them can win on any given night. Still it would be hard to describe them as being hot. Should Creighton beat St. John's at MSG, I suppose consecutive road wins against UConn and the Johnnies would put them in the discussion. But I really don't see that happening.

St. John’s has won 13 in a row with an average margin of victory of 12.4 ppg in those 13 wins. They are smokin’ hot. They beat UConn at home by 5 a couple of weeks ago. Wednesday’s game in Hartford is shaping up as a huge regular season game.
