I have a hard time believing Sacramento St to the MAC. I'd believe Illinois St before that.

North Dakota State Massey ranking had them finishing second in the Mountain West last year. No doubt they will be very competitive in that conference on day one.

San Diego St. 7.30

Fully support NDSU in their move up. Good for the Bison and I hope they're successful in the Mountain West. Honestly surprised SDSU isn't moving alongside them.

As for Sac State, I have nothing against them, but I really hope they don't enter the MAC. It's bad enough the Northern Illinois is in the Mountain West, for a school in Sacramento to be "Mid American" would be absurd.

Seeing where Delaware is on the CUSA map, I'm going to withhold judgement of Sac State if that MAC possibility happens for them. 03-lmfao

It would be even more of a stretch, though, no question.

Two schools in California are in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Matt Brown (Extra Points)--

"I even had a story about Sacramento State joining Conference USA PRE-WRITTEN. But my understanding as of right this second is that it has become less likely than it appeared a few weeks ago."

Want a "deeper dive" into all this?

At least the name "Conference USA" implies a nationwide footprint. "Mid American Conference" does not scream "West Coast"

Yes, and I think that is absurd as well. The destruction of regional conferences creates absurdities upon absurdities.

I also mocked the SEC for putting Mizzou in the SEC East when they had divisions. Apparently the geography departments in these conferences are terrible or weren't consulted.

They didn't want to move Auburn away from historical rivals, even though it would have put them back with other historic rivals (UGA, Florida, UT). Mizzou in the East has somehow turned out to be the least crazy realignment move...

I understood the reasoning. Doesn't make it any less dumb.

Money is making conferences do crazy things.

RE: BIG REALIGNMENT NEWS for G6 >>2-6-26
Quote:North Dakota State University’s deal to join the Mountain West Conference as a football-only member next season includes a general commitment to maintain a level of football spending “reasonably comparable to” the league average. However, if NDSU struggles on the field, it will have to increase its football expenditures the following season to match or exceed the average of its new Mountain West peers.

That requirement is spelled out in the membership agreement NDSU signed Monday, which will take effect July 1. Sportico obtained a copy of the agreement via a public records request. Full story:

It was less crazy than the Big XII adding West Virginia, or the Big Ten adding Maryland snd Rutgers, all around the same time.

VOTE by MAC leaders coming in days...

Price up to 15 Million.

Word is CUSA said No last month.

I pushed Sacramento as a good prospect for CUSA---Will CUSA leaders regret passing up 15 Million and a possibly higher TV Deal??

No thanks. 15 mil doesn't last long split across all members.
