Is college football the reason there wasn’t a 1 pm game yesterday?

The NFL has found the later kickoff times get better ratings, and I imagine with the playoff schedule not necessarily being finalized right away, the Monday night window makes things a little easier to manage. If the NFL expands the first round to 16 teams, I could see them using the early Saturday window. The bigger question would be does the NFL show the other additional game on Friday night, or even go to Tuesday.

ESPN will try to avoid competing with the NFL if at all possible, although that is not always possible now the CFP has expanded.
