The UFL is a legitimate/credible league? One sided officiating says no.

For those who follow the UFL, where would you say their ceiling is? How big and successful do they have the potential to be?

It's minor league football with mediocre QBs and even less mediocre OLs.

Ripole may expand by 4 to 8, but the masses don't care to attend less go out to watch when gasoline is over $4/gal.

I'm not sure who is really going to invest in this.

I know Repole has dropped the number 32 a few times, but I think that's getting ahead of ourselves. I think his original and more concreate plan of getting to sixteen teams two at a time within the next decade is feasible. I think he has the best vision for what spring football needs to be, and TV ratings are up this season from last. Ultimately those numbers are the ones that matter in terms of the league getting to keep going. In person attendance numbers are nice, and we're averaging around 12,000 through three home games so far in Louisville, but that's secondary to making sure the TV revenue is there.

Do they need investors? The guy who is the majority owner of the league is a billionaire. It's way more about TV numbers than attendance, though attendance does make the TV product look better.

TV ratings are up this year for the league, so I think that's a healthy sign.

I also don't get calling players "mediocre" as it relates to who would want to watch. People all over this country go nuts for college football, and all of these guys were really good players at that level. A large percentage of the league has had NFL snaps, and an even larger percentage has been on an NFL roster. The players are good.

(That said, our particular O-line in Louisville is clearly not getting the job done...except that one week against Dallas).

What’s the best expansion number for the UFL & who should be the candidates? Small markets or big? Pro cities or not?

Maybe?

DC
Louisville
Columbus
Memphis (E)

Orlando
Tampa (E)
Birmingham
New Orleans (E)

Houston
Dallas
St Louis
Kansas City (E)

Maybe go west as well?

Albuquerque (E)
Tucson (E)
Sacramento (E)
Tulsa (E)

Or north?

Buffalo (E)
Pittsburgh (E)
Boston (E)
DC would be a good here then replace them with who? Chicago? Omaha? Other?

RE: UFL 2026
We know we're getting Oklahoma City, and we'll likely get Detroit as well.

If New Mexico United gets their stadium built, I could see Albuquerque in the mix. It's actually fairly close to Louisville on terms of DMA size.

Louisville, Columbus, Detroit, Saint Louis
Oklahoma, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio
Sacramento, Los Angeles, Albuquerque, Seattle
DC, New Jersey, Orlando, Philadelphia

I forgot about Oklahoma City. That’s a good lineup but no Birmingham?

From 0-3 to the championship game. Redman did a great job rebuilding the team. The UFL worked out some kinks & putting out a better product as well. Have more kinks to work out but it’s going in the right direction. Exp: supposed to be no punting once you cross the 50 but a dead ball offensive penalty after a first down can move you back behind the 50 & allow you to punt as long as the ball isn’t made ready to snap? Thats a technicality that helps the offense after an offensive penalty. Even the announcers laughed at the owner after that explanation. Another bad rule that needs to be changed.
