Fox is reporting that Trump asked Thune to do that, so they could get the rest of the bill passed, and fight for SAVE another day.

They have said it on 2 different programs now.

IDK this, but my GUESS is, Thune is afraid if he goes around the 60 vote filibuster, the next time the Dems get control of both houses, the Senate will use that as an excuse to blow right by it, too, and try to pack the Supreme Court, for example.

Of course, they may do that anyway, when they get the chance. But if he uses the talking filibuster, they absolutely will do it.

Also, I seriously doubt Thune is the only Pub opposed to it.

I know we've discussed this before, but what states don't require an ID? Ohio always checks my ID before allowing me to vote.

The problem with Thune and his kind is they don’t fear the people enough. He needs to be put on notice. You do what WE tell you. You work for us with the consent to be governed.
