Quote: BREAKING: In a JAW-DROPPING revelation, HUD Sec. Scott Turner just found over $5 BILLION in potential FRAUDULENT payments for thousands of non-citizens and deceased people

Up to 30,000 THOUSAND of them.

A "large concentration" of these rental assistance payments went to BLUE jurisdictions: New York, California and DC, per the New York Post

CANCEL AND CLAW BACK ALL OF IT!

“A massive abuse of taxpayer dollars not only occurred under President Biden’s watch, but was effectively incentivized by his administration’s failure to implement strong financial controls resulting in billions worth of potential improper payments."

Here's Scott Turner a few weeks ago confirming a MASSIVE betrayal under Biden: Illegals were getting taxpayer-backed MORTGAGES over US citizens.

All of it needs to be canceled and people need to go to jail.

New HUD Audit Exposes Biden-Era Funds to Non-Citizens and Deceased Recipients

Quote:Normally, one would think that the only "housing" dead people would need would be a coffin or perhaps an urn. But under the Biden administration, the deceased, as well as illegal immigrants, were getting housing subsidies from the federal government. Imagine that.

Oh, and guess where many of the "questionable" funds were going?

A report by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) recently revealed billions in taxpayer funds that went to "questionable" rental assistance recipients under former President Joe Biden.

The recipients included approximately 30,000 deceased tenants and thousands of potential non-citizens, according to a copy of HUD's "Agency Financial Report" for fiscal year 2025 obtained by the New York Post.

HUD officials told the Post that a "large concentration" of the funds went to New York, California and Washington, D.C., with deceased recipients getting funds in all 50 states.

So, while a large concentration went to two of the biggest, bluest states, in all candor, we note that this is a problem in every state. Or, it was, while Joe Biden (or whoever was really running the show) was sitting in the Oval Office.

The department conducted an automation that compared a U.S. Treasury database to HUD's records. The process uncovered 30,054 deceased tenants who were either actively enrolled in rental assistance programs or had received assistance after they passed, according to HUD's report. The department found the possibly problematic payments through its own internal financial review and analytics, according to the report.

George Romero was not available for comment.

Think about this: that's over 30,000 dead people who were receiving housing subsidies. It's a safe bet that most of them were eligible people who died, and through either fraud or incompetence, they remained on the program after assuming room temperature. If the former, then whoever their next of kin/executor was would seem to be on the hook for fraud. If the latter, then someone in the HUD office managing these programs needs to be unceremoniously placed out on the street with no severance package, no gold watch, just their coffee cup and their collection of autographed cocktail napkins.

Earlier in December, we reported these shenanigans had been uncovered in Colorado.

In Colorado, we learned that the dead, as well as other ineligible persons, were receiving these funds.

221 dead people, out of almost 3,000 people in Colorado who were improperly receiving benefits from HUD.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is investigating whether Colorado providers helped nearly 3,000 people swindle taxpayer money from Uncle Sam, The Post has learned.

The investigation comes after an internal HUD audit found that benefits were granted to 221 dead people, while another 87 were otherwise ineligible.

HUD Secretary Scott Turner has gone on the record to state that there will be consequences for all this:

"A massive abuse of taxpayer dollars not only occurred under President Biden’s watch, but was effectively incentivized by his administration’s failure to implement strong financial controls resulting in billions worth of potential improper payments," HUD Secretary Scott Turner said in a statement provided to the Post.

"HUD will continue investigating the shocking results and will take appropriate action to hold bad actors accountable," he said. "Additionally, the Department is advancing efforts made under President Trump’s first administration to strengthen program integrity and ensure taxpayer-funded assistance serves the vulnerable communities it was intended for."

Good. Let's see some people perp-walked.

Better yet, let's see these programs defunded and eliminated. The United States has been running "affordable housing" schemes for decades now, pushed mostly by Democrats, and yet somehow housing keeps growing more and more expensive. It's worse in the major cities, but it's happening everywhere.

The fix? Stop pouring money into the problem. Deregulate, reform zoning laws, fix the actual problem: Supply. It might actually have an effect, while removing some obvious opportunities for fraud.

67% of increase in demand for rentals due to foreign-born, skyrocketing prices: HUD

Quote:From 2022 to 2024, two-thirds of the rental demand in the United States was attributable to the foreign-born population in the US. This comes as rental prices have been outpacing inflation numbers.

According to the Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) recently released "Worst Case Housing Needs Report," which is published every two years, the foreign-born population accounted for over 60 percent of all rental demand in the US.

"Immigration accounts for up to 100 percent of housing demand growth in some regions, and for two-thirds of rental demand growth nationwide. In California and New York, immigrants have accounted for 100 percent of all rental growth and over one-half of all growth in owner-occupied housing in recent years," HUD added.

The report is the agency's flagship assessment on housing status for lower-income Americans and the affordability of housing. It was found that the heavy influx of foreign nationals in the US has strained the housing industry, pushing rental prices higher. In places like California and New York, the immigrant population accounted for 100 percent of all rental growth.

According to the report on housing, "Between 2021 and 2024, the foreign-born population of the United States increased by more than 6 million—the largest such increase over such a short period in American history." The foreign-born population now stands at around 53 million people living in the US.

The report further adds that in the last year, "economic growth has been insufficient to lift the wages of low-income renting families high enough to make rent affordable," and record immigration numbers have "continued to place upward pressure on rent prices” in the US.

Without the upward pressure from high immigration, housing inventory pressure and demand for rent would have been much lower, and prices would not have climbed as sharply in recent years. The report added that around 784,000 fewer households would have formed in the same period if immigration had stayed consistent.

The growth in households from the foreign-born population "was 13 percent between 2019 and 2023 compared to 7 percent between 2015 and 2019," the report adds.
