If you're going to pull out the history books to support your assertion, you'll be upset to learn that prior to last year's game against SMU...

You need to understand that the football players of these schools come from high schools and communities across the State of Texas. There is a big interest in the communities from where these athletes come. They may not be fans of the schools, but they are fans of the players so they will be watching. Again, don't underestimate the athletic programs and the fans from across the State of Texas. These folks will watch to see how the kid from their community is doing.

Being in CUSA, all games televised start no later than 8 p.m. Central Time. If there is a WAC, MWC, or PAC-10 game, these start around 10 p.m. Central (usually PAC-10 is shown over MWC or WAC). Unfortunately, people are ready for bed after a days worth of football or are heading out for the rest of the evening.

CUSA is on CSTV and ESPN and an occasional game on Fox Sports SW/Central which are all on Time Warner in Austin. It is my understanding that MWC and CUSA will have regional coverage on some games on CSTV and Texas will be receiving the CUSA feed when there is a conflict if I am not mistaken.

Actually travel for UTEP in MWC would be less than travel in C-USA.

Cowboy, I can't speak for the reast of CUSA but Houston has been kicking MWC a$$ for decades...including Wyoming.

TCU had to go on a major win streak after the Death Penalty just to catch up, so yes, SMU is superior to TCU.

UTEP had been a long-time member of the WAC; the MWC just tossed them aside like dirt.
I can't imagine UTEP ever wanting to sit under BYU's thumb again. They need C-USA to thrive.

TCU holds the series record against SMU. 40-39-7 over the past 86 years. Now that we have taken off many of the really stupid recruiting handcuffs, I expect to see us in control of the series, again, very soon. 2005 is a start in the right direction.
