Exclamation 2026 SEC Schedule Proposed Dates
The SEC moves to a 9 game schedule. Also of note is 2026 will have 13 weeks as opposed to 14 so teams will go back to having just 1 bye instead of 2.

According to FBSchedules.com, Georgia and Mississippi State still have four non conference games in 2026 so I scheduled all 13 weeks for these two teams. They will have to remove one of their non conference games. By contrast, Texas A&M, Mississippi, South Carolina, and LSU have only two non conference games scheduled so each have two bye weeks scheduled.

Also of note is only three schools scheduled non conference games Nov. 21 and not one school has a non conference game on Nov. 14. Alabama has all three of their non conference games scheduled the first three weeks of the season and Georgia has their four scheduled for the first three weeks and Georgia Tech to end the season so unless they move one of their cupcakes to cupcake week they'll have to play a conference game that week. So guess who I have Alabama and Georgia playing? You know it! Well let's look at who can reasonably play Alabama the second to last week: Auburn, Tennessee, and LSU normally are scheduled other weeks. Texas A&M won't want to play Alabama and Texas back to back weeks. Mississippi State won't want to play Alabama and Mississippi back to back weeks. South Carolina won't want to play Alabama and Clemson back to back weeks. Vanderbilt won't want to play Alabama and Tennessee back to back weeks. That leaves Georgia and Kentucky. Georgia Tech might be big for UGa but they're a non conference game and Georgia probably doesn't see GT the same way South Carolina sees Clemson.

My goal was to get everyone's conference games on the schedule, there were a lot of teams that had three road games in a row. It's a product of nine conference games and several teams having five road conference games.

Happy Thanksgiving!

RE: 2026 SEC Schedule Proposed Dates
I had scheduled the Magnolia Bowl for Oct. 24. Will they want that earlier or later? Oct. 24 is currently scheduled for World Series Game 2 so it's likely the SEC won't want that date for it (or they could schedule it for 3:30pm).

Someone in the Lane Train Party thread mentioned LSU is also scheduled to return to Tennessee as well. I had scheduled LSU @ Tennessee for Nov. 21 but since I also have Georgia @ Alabama the same day LSU-UT would then be the undercard.

If anything, this will spice up the SEC Schedule release:)
