Props to O-Line and O-Line Coach!
Man…the O-Line was just mauling the NIU front last night. What’s interesting to me is how our O-Line has transformed over the course of the year.
Game #1, the starting O-Line was OT-Vandervest, Guard-Hofer, Center-Schleicher, Guard-Dabo and OT-Schuster.
For the NIU game, the starters were OT-Vaughan (Wake Forest transfer), Guard-Whitenack (Illinois transfer), Center-Anderson (Michigan transfer), Guard-Dabo and OT-Schuster.
First off, props to new O-Line Coach Pawlak (an NIU alum!) for the job he’s done with this group in developing some quality depth.
I know Schleicher was injured and lost for the year earlier this season. Also, both Vandervest and Hofer were injured a few games ago. I think Hofer may have gotten in for a few plays last night. Vandervest was also in uniform and on the sidelines. Curious if he’s still injured and is expected to return? He was probably our best returning O-Lineman at the start of the season. Anyway, the depth has been impressive…to date! Great to see the focus on this position group!
