What's sad is how the government has thrown trillions at these programs to attack poverty but the only accomplishment has been to create a class of people who depend on government for their existence. The fraud is rampant and only the most ignorant can't see it. Yes, SNAP needs reformed.

Its NOT .01%, that is an obvious lie. There are likely millions of people defrauding the system on this and we are capable of cleaning up the fraud in the system without punishing the poor, the elderly and the disabled who actually need SNAP benefits.

The problem is we have idiots like Roxie on one side always trying to pretend fraud and scams are not important enough to care about and then we have some conservatives on the other side who want to just eliminate the whole thing and don't give a flip about the millions of people who do genuinely need the program or want to go all nazi like on those on the program and force them to buy expensive heath foods no one wants to eat.

So we have extreme takes on both sides making this impossible for everyone.

We can clean up the SNAP program in a very positive way by simply eliminating all the fraud and scamming and limiting its use on PREMIUM high dollar items.

We can do this without screwing over million of Americans who genuinely need the program and without going all Communist on their shopping choices and not allowing them to buy some soda and chips for the kids or for a snack. Just because your poor, disabled or elderly you should not be banned from buying a bag of chips or soda with your SNAP benefit. The entire country has obesity problem, its not the governments job to punish the most vulnerable on this.

Before some out there get all cocky on this and just demand to cut the whole thing, remember how off the charts expensive basic foods are right now compared to 5 years ago. This is not the moment to be all cold and heartless over this.

Just clean the fraud and abuse which is likely more massive than anyone imagines.
