J.P. Morgan Quietly Helped Jack Smith Target Trump Media
Quote:The weaponization of federal power has reached a new level.
In a shocking revelation, Special Counsel Jack Smith secretly subpoenaed J.P. Morgan Chase for the private banking records of Trump Media and Technology Group—despite the company not existing at the time of January 6.
The move, uncovered by Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes, represents yet another case of the Justice Department extending its political reach far beyond reason or legality.
Trump Media became a public company in 2024, years after the events that Smith’s investigation supposedly focused on.
Yet, Smith’s “Arctic Frost” operation went after Truth Social’s bank records as though it were somehow connected to the Capitol protests.
That alone raises the question: what possible justification could exist for subpoenaing a company that didn’t exist at the time of the alleged crime?
None—unless the motive was political.
As Nunes explained in his interview with Fox News host Maria Bartiromo, the subpoena was not only unjustified but also secret.
Trump Media was never notified. Even more concerning, J.P. Morgan Chase—one of the largest banks in the world—complied without question.
For a company headquartered in Florida, such cooperation with an unfounded federal demand may have violated both state and federal laws. Yet the bank went further.
At the height of Trump Media’s public offering in early 2024—just as Truth Social was preparing to go public and raise $250 million—J.P. Morgan abruptly “debanked” the company.
That decision, coming amid active cooperation with the Biden Department of Justice, effectively sabotaged a major free speech enterprise.
It was a clear act of corporate compliance with political intimidation.
J.P. Morgan later told Fox News that it does not close accounts for political reasons.
But Nunes’s account shows otherwise. The timing of the debanking, the secret subpoena, and the coordination with the Justice Department point to something far larger: a pattern of financial institutions doing the dirty work of partisan prosecutors.
This is not an isolated case. We now know that Smith’s team also reached into Verizon and AT&T for Republicans’ phone records—continuing the same playbook used during the Russia hoax that Nunes exposed seven years ago.
The message is clear: if you stand with Trump, your privacy, your finances, and even your company’s existence are fair game.
As investigations continue, Trump Media has vowed to pursue every legal avenue to expose who ordered the subpoenas, who approved them, and why one of America’s largest banks turned against a lawful company.
Free speech should never depend on which political party controls the Department of Justice.

Florida AG James Uthmeier Announces Investigation into JP Morgan for “De-Banking” Trump Media While Coordinating with Biden DOJ’s Operation Arctic Frost
Quote:Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced Monday that his office has officially launched an investigation into J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, following explosive allegations that the Wall Street giant “de-banked” Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG) while secretly coordinating with Special Counsel Jack Smith and the Biden Department of Justice under a shadow operation known as Operation Arctic Frost.
“We launched an investigation into JP Morgan Chase. While coordinating with Jack Smith in the Biden DOJ’s Operation Arctic Frost, JP Morgan de-banked the Florida-based Trump Media Group, harming the company just before it went public,” Uthmeier wrote on X.
In a video statement, Uthmeier confirmed that his office has sent a letter demanding answers from J.P. Morgan:
“Today, we’ve sent a letter and launched an investigation into J.P. Morgan Chase Bank after alarming revelations about their coordinated efforts with Jack Smith and the Department of Justice as part of the Biden administration’s Operation Arctic Frost, where we now know Biden officials went after their political enemies.
It’s come to our attention that J.P. Morgan de-banked Trump Media Group, a Florida-based company, right before the business went public. This is a crucial time for any company — a time when you cannot afford to lose your bank.
In addition, we’re aware that J.P. Morgan Bank solicited tons of information from Trump Media unrelated to their business practices and, we believe, provided sensitive banking information to the Department of Justice without real probable cause.
This is wrong. We will not tolerate it, and we will hold them accountable.
Here in Florida, we’ve passed legislation to protect our consumers from wrongful de-banking, and we will stand by our consumers.”
As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Jack Smith’s office secretly subpoenaed J.P. Morgan for the private banking records of Trump Media, despite the company not even existing during the January 6 events that Smith’s investigation purportedly targeted.
That revelation, made public by Trump Media CEO Devin Nunes, exposes the politically motivated abuse of federal power, an attempt to cripple the social media platform Truth Social and punish those who dared to build a conservative alternative to Big Tech.
Smith’s operation went after Trump Media’s bank records under the pretext of “national security” and “financial transparency,” yet the subpoena’s timeline makes no legal sense. Trump Media did not exist at the time of the alleged crime.
According to Nunes, J.P. Morgan not only complied with the secret subpoena but also closed Trump Media’s accounts just as the company prepared to go public in early 2024.
The timing of the bank’s decision coincided with Trump Media’s anticipated $250 million public offering, a move that threatened to strengthen the financial backbone of the conservative free speech movement.
