NYSE and all banking/finance corps need to start getting exit plans in place. Texas may become a VERY INTERESTING place in the very near term - especially Austin as it seems to be the city grabbing all of the corporate relocations for some reason.

ETA: I'm not an Ayn Rand fan by any stretch. However, what's going on in NYC seems like the most blatant ripoff of the 'Atlas Shrugged' plot that I've ever seen...

Well, of course not. Why not applaud those that succeed and spend their largesse on often public goods such as cancer centers (St. Jude’s), Alzheimer’s research, libraries and other good works?

This is dumb and really simple logic. I strongly dislike paying my mortgage. But I strongly like living with a roof under my head in a nice neighborhood.

It isn’t about what you like. Nobody likes paying taxes. Everyone likes having strong infrastructure and services that impact their lives.

It’s fine that everyone pays the “minimum” that they owe. We should just raise it so that we those that benefit the most from our strong infrastructure and investments in society pay for it. The shareholder making $1B in dividends shouldn’t pay a lower factor than the engineer making $120k. It’s stupid to think so.

Nope, I hate paying taxes because I know the vast majority of those funds will be wasted. If I knew the funds were going to worthwhile projects, I would feel better about actually paying the taxes.
