Police the Right or Fight the Left?
The Federalist has a really good article entitled: "If You Care More About Policing The Right Than Fighting The Left, You’re Part Of The Problem."
The people in the Republican Party who were attacking the young men in the chat group are out of line. They should be attacking the gender groomers and the predatory pedophiles who actually are destroying the lives of children. Deal with the real issues, and quit giving oxygen to the trolls in the main stream media.
Quote:Conservatives not only face rhetorical and physical attacks from the left, as evidenced by continued violence from Antifa, the assassination of Charlie Kirk, and witnessing the subsequent celebrations of his murder, but also constant moral policing from self-described “classical liberals” and “moderate” Republicans who demand ideological purity within the GOP while opposing many of the policies of MAGA and the America First movement.
While Democrats enthusiastically rally behind candidates like Jay Jones who openly fantasize about political violence, Republicans like JD Vance or conservative commentators like Matt Walsh are treated as if they are complicit in extremism when they refuse to publicly condemn young Republican members of a leaked group chat over a handful of offensive jokes or the controversial opinions of right-wing media personalities like Tucker Carlson and Candace Owens. ...
Equating actual left-wing violence with edgy right-wing group chats creates a false moral equivalency that’s wielded as a political weapon against effective conservatives like JD Vance and Matt Walsh in an effort to discredit legitimate right-wing policies.

RE: Police the Right or Fight the Left?
The primary reason that the left has lost so much support (19% approval rating, etc.) is that it has abandoned its principles. Jay Jones is just the latest example - - one of hundreds of other even worse examples.
The thesis of this article is that we are currently engaged in a political war. And I realize that lots (perhaps most) on this forum think that we are. In a war, you fight to win - - principles be damned.
I, however, do not think that we are at war - - at least not yet. Although happening only at a glacial pace, I think that America is gradually healing. Bit by bit, the Jew-hating, America-trashing, crime-coddling, politically corrupt, bloodthirsty, socialists on the left - - and their enablers in Hollywood and in the media - - are losing the argument. They know it, and are now at the point lashing out in anger as they increasingly lose their power.
Why is this happening? I think it is because the right for the most part has remained faithful to its principles. It does not tolerate “Jay Jones” behavior among its ranks.
So in that sense I disagree with this article. I do expect better from the right than I do from the vermin on the left. And I will continue to do so, at least until I am persuaded that our country truly is at war.

Policing the right is important, that is how the left got out of hand. Instead of normal, rational people telling them to knockoff the nonsense, they defend it and eventually embrace it.

Where's the boy commie to point out the fallacy (although he can't tell us the difference between logical and illogical fallacy without resorting to The Google) and false equivalency in this piece??

We may not be in an actual war in the literal sense, but we are locked in a deadly struggle for the soul of our beloved republic against agents of evil, Satan's minions. And they seem to grow more numerous, outrageous, and desperate by the day. Prove me wrong. (not a challenge to you BTW)
If we don't remain steadfast in our resolve, they WILL topple this great republic and recreate it to comport with the principles of Marx, Lenin, and Stalin rather than those of Washington, Adams, or Jefferson.
Great post as usual, my friend.

Keeping politicians from both sides of the aisle in check is not a bad thing. Comparing the actions of members of the two ideologies and concluding that both require equal oversight is illogical and incorrect.
Your average Republican will recoil at the prospect of doing the heinous things that the left now routinely does with no remorse or regret. Republicans do not have the time or desire to attend ineffective rallies and protests. The majority of them have jobs that do not allow them time off to act stupid. Most Republicans work, raise their families, attend church, and are positive role models for their children and communities.
Contrast that with what the media portrays of the left. One look at a loon is usually all that's required to determine that person is in fact a loon. Not always, though; I shoot pool occasionally with a gorgeous pistol-toting 30-year-old blonde—she works at the pool hall part-time—who has unfortunately used her body as a canvas with some bad-quality tats—not all of them, but enough—and she has piercings in places I never knew could be pierced, BUT she is as conservative as I am.
But on average, someone who looks like her is a loon.

That gorgeous blonde with the tats might as well wear a pink hat, that's what people see and will judge her on that.
I don't get beautiful women with tats, they are ruining their bodies and don't realize that the supple skin they have now will be old, wrinkly, and sagging and those tats will look horrendous and stupid.

The more the right polices itself, the more it loses to the left. The left is the abusive husband and the right is the battered wife waiting to be hit again instead of fighting back.

The author misses the point. You absolutely should not blindly support anyone else on the right. That is what the left does. They aren't allowed to think for themselves.
What should be rejected is that we are somehow responsible for everyone who votes the same way we do. Its a free country. People are allowed to say obnoxious things. Its not my place to lecture them or censor them. Now if its your vice-president, someone who works for you or someone you are running on a ticket with (see Virginia Democrats), that is a totally different situation.

The crowd in the picture of the Minnesota protests in the Federalist article, looks just like you would expect them to.

Very good point and well said.
This points further to how absolutely desperate The Crazy is to define any conservative as “Nazi”, Fascist, Authoritarian, blah, blah, blah.
Also why true conservatives must tend to their own “gardens” to be sure the weeds don’t take over.
This is exactly what happened to the true “liberal”. The Marxist Loons saw a soft underbelly and each and every day they push a little more. It largely began with abortion and the purity test that a Dim candidate had to abide in order to get on a ballot.
Not too many years ago most Democrats were either openly Pro-Life or at least moderate enough to not support public monies to kill our babies or even present late term or even live birth “abortions”. I.e. infanticide as an “option” like you’re picking out a car.
Yet here we are. Police our own, especially when they step out of line.
