NWSL wants to add 12 more teams
https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Ar...-timeline/

The league is already at 14 teams with two more set to join for 2026 (Boston, Denver). Adding another 12 would push the league to 28 teams. No specific markets have been mentioned, but notable expansion opportunities include Atlanta, Austin, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dallas, Detroit, Indianapolis, Las Vegas, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Nashville, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Pittsburgh, Sacramento, and San Antonio.

No idea if Canada is on the table, but the lack of a professional women's league there may make cross-border expansion acceptable to FIFA. The Canadian dollar may be a bigger issue.
