I've not looked at any numbers but anyone living in America can see COVID and the Biden policies cut DEEP into everything from steakhouses to take out to McDonalds.

The prices are still astronomical today and most of them are still not doing business at the 2019 levels.

Chicken and Dumplings with 3 sides (Green Beans, Dumplings, & Dumplings) was my go to.

Holy starch.

More evidence of Nashville going total woke.

Such a stupid decision.

As I noted previously, Cracker Barrel is located in Lebanon, the county seat of Wilson County (which sits adjacent to Nashville/Davidson County). Wilson County is Trump Country.

This suggestion that the "wokeness" of Nashville has somehow infiltrated the Cracker Barrel leadership borders on odd.

Just call it what it is: a stupid decision by Cracker Barrel. No need to insert the "Nashville is going total woke" argument. We (Nashville) have enough problems as it is to be worried about one more concern (in this case, a bad move by CB) that is not of our making.

Odd?
No it isn’t.
It’s simply a parallel.
Cracker Barrel being in a Nashville suburb, making stupid, woke adjustments to a highly successful brand parallels the once thriving city of Nashville shifting left, taking liberal stands on issues, electing an true idiot liberal mayor, etc. etc.

Seems par for the course for Nashvegas.

More like a kick six
Probably will turn into one as I do not think this will work.

The CEO before her bought Maple Street Biscuits here in JAX for 33 million, then decided to change the biscuit recipe. Seems like the place has been mismanaged for a bit

Modern conservatives seek out woke in everything, in the same way modern liberals seek out racism in everything.

It’s why I laugh when one side points to the other and says “you all think everything is woke/racist.” They do the same thing.

Its a full rebrand and store remodel.

Taking the life out of it and making it another Generic 2025 American chain restaurant

Yeah, giving up on the country theme is dumb, assuming that is what they are doing. That is what they are known for and I don't see getting rid of it bringing in more people to dine.

Exactly. Although I'm sure that was the plan. Dumb. They likely attracted nobody new with a bland generic redo, and lost a huge chunk of their current fan base.

Giving up their country theme? Have you seen the photos that were posted? There is one right above here. Painted all white inside, now has generic booths, bright lighting, and looks like 10,000 other restaurants.

Applebees and Chilis are drowning. That piece of the market is having trouble. They don't want to be just like that.

Yep, Chili's is drowning with an over 290% increase in their stock price over the last 5 years:

I like Chili's, too. I'm not sure if the ones closest to me are doing well, but I do know that my nephew went to the one on Garth Road near I-10 to get some food yesterday. He really enjoyed it. (I just don't remember what he got.)

I really, really love their loaded baked potato soup. I always get it with extra cheese.

This does, indeed, look like a woke move that will backfire horribly. I'm with you on that.

But I take exception to your comment "the once thriving city of Nashville shifting left" and with your suggesting Cracker Barrel's move is somehow related to Nashville's political and social influence.

Wilson County (home to CBRL) is its own animal — and rather mainstream and conservative. This is a Cracker Barrel fumble of its own making. I don't buy the "parallel" you present.

Nashville has always been a left-leaning city. Every mayor we've ever had was a Democrat. It's not like Freddie O'Connell (our current mayor) was elected and — all of a sudden — Nashville got woke. We're not "shifting left." We've always been left with some independents (such as myself) and some conservatives as part of the mix. And we've risen to our current status as a major American city with leftist mayors. I wonder how that happened?

And Nashville is still thriving. One of the 10 fastest-growing large MSAs (1 million or more residents) in the U.S. About to see work start on Oracle's eastern headquarters. Multiple buildings of 300 feet tall and taller under construction. Continued growth at our various universities (with both woke and non-woke students wanting to come to Nashville for college).

Many of the folks who come to our city for a good time voted for Trump. And I welcome them. Have met many. They don't seem to share your concerns. If Nashville was too lefty for them ... they would cease visiting.

We're doing fine. And Bill Dazzle — who also dislikes woke-ism — sees the healthiness every day living and working in Nashville.

I know that people eat at Chili's, Applebee's, & Cracker Barrel, but I simply don't understand why? Same goes for Olive Garden, Outback, & Redneck Lobster.

Chili's, Cracker Barrel, Outback - Si

Applebee's, Olive Garden, Red Lobster - No

Different strokes...I try not to judge people by their culinary choices. We would be boring as hell if we all liked the same stuff.

Personally, I would switch some of those around.

Chili's, Outback, Olive Garden, Red Lobster - Si. (I love Olive Garden's food. Sue me. lol)
Applebee's, Cracker Barrel, TGI Fridays, Logan's Roadhouse - No. (I went to Logan's one time when I lived in Humble, and it was awful.)
