RE: ASUN TV Deal
The extension of just one year is telling of some issues behind the scenes that Lions1983 has mentioned on our board. It seems some schools wanted to go with FloSports - which offers a lot of money for conferences to switch to them. I hope the UAC doesn't go that route. I use Flo for marching band and it's okay but I prefer ESPN+. The Gulf South Conference uses FloFootball now, and most of them complain about it.

FloSports sucks, and I prefer ESPN+, but I guess if they offer a lot more money...

When you break it down per school it's a little over $100k extra

The next media deal will be interesting as, based on what Bacon said, the idea is to pool the two conferences together.

$2.4M / 13 is closer to $180K

The UAC and ASUN would probably get an even better deal than CAA. They are playing in 2 different time zones, offering more premium content at different times of day.

Pretty sure the league takes a cut too and until recently it was split 14 ways plus whatever the league took

Charleston media reports around $100,000 annual payout for the Cougars

Quote:The College of Charleston will also receive about $100,000 annually from the conference.

You are correct, however that does not mean the UAC conference leadership will take the same cut as CAA front office.

UAC leadership may decide to give schools 100% of the money from the media deal.

RE: ASUN TV Deal
I hope we stick with ESPN+ long-term. Flo is so limiting and only trying to lure folks away from ESPN with cash. The GSC folks in D2 hate Flo. I've used it for other things (like marching band and even softball when UNA went to a post-season tournament), and it's fine, but I like watching all of the other stuff on ESPN+.

RE: ASUN TV Deal
This is a bad deal in my humble opinion, seems as if ESPN took advantage of UAC emotional attachment to them.

https://uacsports.com/news/2026/8/25/gen...-espn.aspx

Beginning with the 2026 academic year, ESPN will serve as the exclusive home for both the ASUN and the UAC. A comprehensive slate of ASUN and UAC regular-season and championship events will be featured across ESPN+, with meaningful exposure on ESPN's linear networks.

The agreement includes:
- Linear coverage of the ASUN Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship games.
- Linear coverage of the UAC Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship games.
- Linear coverage of regular season men’s basketball.
- Inclusion of a select linear event – any sport – for each conference each year. This year’s selected game features Tarleton State Football hosting Prairie View A&M in Week 0.
- Annual collaboration of additional regular season and championship opportunities across ESPN networks.
- Over 1,200 digital productions on ESPN+.
- Comprehensive live coverage of regular-season competition across multiple sports.
- Exclusive streaming of conference championship events.
- Ability to produce 188 local linear games.
- Expanded visibility for student-athletes, institutions, and conference brands.

It’s basically what the ASUN has now with a couple of upgrades. Much better than going to Flo!

I liked Alice more than Flo.

She seemed more like the "girl next door" type.
