State took over Houston ISD after years of failure. Oh the horror, the media sky screaming angry upset parents and a swath of administrators fired was too much to bare.

Where was this outrage when year after year the students failed competency tests and drop out rates skyrocketed? This doesn’t even include all the cover ups to maintain their facade like speaking Spanish only in classrooms.

After just a couple of years the state appointed administrators have the students actually being taught and no longer are students failing competency tests but actually learning. What a novel idea

Bottom line these ideologies and their propaganda doesn’t care about helping people build futures through education. It is just a mechanism to push their own warped mentally challenged agenda. Unfortunately their agenda is a dead end road to actually building a career.

HISD was a model of an urban district. They even merged North Forest ISD into them because HISD was better run. But then the woke politicians took over and focused on changing school names. Even changed Sidney Lanier MS. He was a poet who died at 36 because he got TB in a union prison camp where he spent all but the first year of the war when he was a sailor in the Confederate navy. He had no notoriety as a rank and file soldier, only as a poet.

They also changed Dick Dowling MS name since he was known as a Confederate officer who with 50 men stopped a union invasion fleet with 5,000 men at Sabine Pass. That school opened the same year as another in the same mostly white neighborhood, Montgomery ES. That school was named after a Black janitor who died helping children get out of Poe ES when a crazy parent brought a very destructive bomb. He helped limit it to 6 dead (a teacher Kolter who also had an elementary named after her, 2 children, the parent and his child). Both inspiring stories, not racist ones.
