2024/25 WAC Attendance
This will be the third year where I post the following info regarding attendance for the WAC. I keep track of attendance numbers for UTA as well as their conference mates in all team sports. As a refresher, there are both a per game average and total attendance. The teams are listed in per game average, then I add the ranking for total attendance to the right.

One change, even though I disagree with it, the NCAA averages all baseball and softball games into the average, even though teams put a dash for doubleheaders. These numbers should be in line with what the NCAA has.

I think it will be interesting to see what Tarleton averages with both basketball programs this upcoming year with the new arena. I am hoping with the new arena we will have some bigger and better home out of conference games.

I don't see any way that you don't get number bumps in those areas. I think your FB numbers will steadily improve as well if your success continues.

Tarleton has had steadily increasing numbers in all sports since UTA joined the WAC and I started tracking them.

UTA is a good partner in all aspects.

RE: 2024/25 WAC Attendance
Had nothing to do with UTA ' Tarleton was just growing rapidly and having a lot of success in Athletics in many sports since moving up has a lot more to do with football than anything else.

RE: 2024/25 WAC Attendance
I didn't follow the WAC attendance prior to UTA. I don't know what Tarleton did prior. Since UTA joined, TSU has had a nice upward trajectory.

One home game in three sports and a three-game series in two other sports would not drive total attendance much. While I can see where the wording is a little awkward, this seems straightforward to me.

Perhaps we should track our women's flag football attendance in the near future. Will this bbs become the UACbbs board soon? Somebody will have to make a lot of additions, deletions and other changes to keep this thing going. It's too bad the Southland doesn't have a presence on CSNbbs.

I personally keep track of all sports at UTA independently. Since the WAC does not have the sport, it wouldn’t be included in a thread I made, similar to SUU’s gymnastics program. If you want the numbers, I’ll provide them easily enough.

As for the board, I and Edinburger were voted as mods of this forum. As you can see the NMSU poster is still listed as the mod. Former schools still have sub-forums. I’m not sure how much love the WAC receives from CSNBBS, but it isn’t the focus for sure. In theory, it should still be fairly straightforward. It is the same conference with a different name. I’ve seen active posters from Austin Peay, Eastern Kentucky and North Alabama on this forum. Coupled with the Abilene Christian, Tarleton and UTA posters, this forum should stay decently active either way.

I am guessing we will relabel the name at some point.

Our daughter was an All-American gymnast at SUU. She was on their first D-1 level team. Now in her 50s, she coaches and is a meet judge. At SUU, gymnastics was a revenue sport, probably comparable attendance to VB at UTA.

Yes, she is in her 50s. My wife and I started very young. :o)

There were 13 girls in her recruiting class (in 1992?) that initiated SUU's serious D-1 competitive program. Their big rivals were and are perennial top ten programs like BYU, Arizona, Utah, ASU and USU.

Imagine the immediate impact that coach had to bring in 13 elite 17-18 year old female gymnasts from all over the country. (Talk about herding cats!)

Also, the university had just constructed a 5300 seat events center.
