Video broke a record for most lies and misrepresentation of the facts in a single video.
The official making the speech was kicked out of the Tennessee legislature for misconduct.
Musk is using 15 gas fired turbine generators for 364 days which is legal.
Since they were not considered permanent no permit was required by law.
He has more on site in case some break down or if one needs to be taken off line for maintenance.
The TVA is building 2 substations to take care of power needs of colossus.
One is up and running and the other will be online this fall.
Then ALL gas turbines WOULD'VE been removed.
Since the activist made it as issue Musk has asked for and gotten permits to make them permanent if he chooses.
He is now allowed to use 15 turbines at any point in time till 2030.
Interesting item the video left out.
Musk is building a grey water treatment facility that will take treated waste water that normally flows into the Mississippi, treats the water even more, then uses it to cool colossus before the water is expelled into the Mississippi many times cleaner that it was when it left the waste water treatment plant.
The real issue is that local political activist have no say so in the deal and want to destroy it if they cannot control it.
Case in point: Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium.
By transferring ownership of the stadium from the city to the Tigers foundation, it saved the city close to $3 million a year. Still the city retained ownership of Tigerlane and Liberty Park. And revenues generated.
But local activist fought against the deal because special interest groups of which they were obligated would no longer have any say so in stadium operations.
Fred Jones and the Southern Heritage Classic leased the stadium one game per year for decades.
And he wanted a say in day to day operations of stadium, even though he's never spent a red cent beyond rent, toward upkeep of the stadium
Even though annually the SHC crowds causes more damage to the facility than all other tenants COMBINED.
The first year Tigerlane was open one patron of the SHC literally tried to dig a BBQ pit in the grassy common area.
Others drove steel spikes into freshly laid asphalt for tent stakes instead of using sand bags.
SHC patrons used spray paint on the fresh asphalt to mark locations for tents.
Even though EVERY slot on Tigerlane is numbered, Fred Jones painted his own numbers on the spots.
Tiger fans have been forced to treat their spots for fire ants because SHC patrons dump grease and bones onto the ground.
The political activist put these special interest groups ahead of the people and they must try to maintain their position of power in the community.
Leading a fight against Musk even if they have to blatantly lie, helps then maintain their political power.
Another interesting item is the community they're talking about.
Until the late 70s the community by colossus wasn't even a part of Memphis.
It was literally a shanti town in an unincorporated part of the county along the river.
Most houses in the area didn't have electricity or running water and open sewage.
The area got it's name because most of the houses in the area were built from discarded railway shipping boxes.
