Tulane suddenly falling apart...and their coach is panicking with constant substitutions (today as she did against did against us last Wednesday). Looking at the stats, aside from their 15 blocks, Temple didn't play particularly well, hitting only .146. Tulane had more kills, more digs and a slight higher hit%. However, Tulane continues to shoot itself in the foot with service errors (10 today after 14 against us).

ECU clearly has the hardest remaining schedule; Tulane and FAU the easiest. Temple may be the hottest team in the conference. Not sure what has sparked their turnaround, but they're going to be a very tough challenge for us next Sunday in Philly.

Do we know if any players are thinking of doing a 5th year?

We're actually a very young team. Love, Guiterrez, Simmons, Smith the elder, Mateo, Hummel and Dorotik are players who are seniors or grad transfers. Seay, Bello, Lopez and Eastman all true Freshman...Peterson, Smith the younger, Furoyama and Croft all Sophomores...Skopal and Schneider are juniors. Even if all our seniors/grads depart, we still have a very strong returning core. We will need to replace libero with another proven transfer if Hummel departs, but I'm still dreaming that Alice Volpe comes and plays her senior year for her mom.

We have 5 players coming in next year. Was just trying to see how the coaching staff is managing the new rules. I think Simmons and Hummel are for sure gone as they will exhaust eligibility. On the basketball side I know the staff is hoping to keep Flores on another year. Schools have been/are actively trying to recruit her away.

So we have one remaining spot for next year, assuming no one transfers out and no one stays for a 5th year of eligibility? That has to be used to find a proven libero out of the portal.

Hummel earned AAC Defensive Player of the Week. Well deserved.

Talk about minimal decibel impact!

Grungy -- Do you know the story behind this unconventional thinking?

That's an alto flute.
The person playing it is my significant other, Laura Cole (Brown '83).

Us, while I showed Laura your screen grabs...

Wow!! This is fabulous!

Thanks for the correction, Grungy ... and congrats to Laura for her continuing innovations in transverse flute family performance.

(I prefer piccolos, of course ... because I want to be heard. :-) )

I understand about wanting to be heard.
We have a couple of piccolos in The MOB now and they are of course audible.
The band is so tiny now that I can hear the flutes too, but I'm standing pretty close to them (inverse square law and all that).

After you graduated we had 40 flutes and piccs for a couple of years, and they could also be heard.
