Seems to be a massive failure, at least domestically, considering Q1 Tesla sales continued to surpass rivals. Tesla's two best-selling models , the Y and 3, are outselling popular EVs from other brands by at least a 2:1 ratio. Tesla's share price has all but recovered as well.

In my little red corner of the world, I see twice as many Teslas on the road than a year ago.

Nah, I still don't want a Tesla, but that has nothing to do with politics. When battery life and infrastructure improve, I'll consider an EV, but not until then.
