When you have a Single A level fielder with a Double AA bat at Shortstop, a past their prime 1B, and an idiot manager, you have problems

Why was Kershaw so bad historically in the post-season?

Lifetime ERA of 4.63. Only had two Postseasons with an ERA under 3. 5 Postseasons with an ERA above 5, including his ERA of 162 in 2023

there's tough ways to end the season. And there's what happened with the Phillies last night.

I miss the Cardinals being in the postseason. Or just being good actually.

Tigers and Mariners! What a game! 15 innings and only 1 error. Do or die game 5. Wow!

Well played, gentlemen.

Well, not a great start to the ALCS as a Jays fan. Nothing like being down 0-1 and going against the Mariners ace in Game 2.

Mariners lead 1-0. They are the only AL team never to make the WS. And with Tampa Bay one of only 2 not to win.
Brewers are in the NLCS. They are the only NL team never to win an NL pennant. They did make the WS from the American League in 1982. They are one of 3 never to win the WS along with San Diego and Colorado. Coincidentally, the Brewers started in Seattle.

Longest NL since last WS trip:
Pittsburgh 1979
Milwaukee 1982 (in AL)
Cincinnati 1990
San Diego 1998
Florida 2003
Longest AL since last WS trip:
Seattle never
Baltimore 1983
Athletics 1990
Minnesota 1991
Toronto 1993

The powers of the 70s were Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Dodgers, Baltimore, Athletics and Yankees.
But that was before local revenue became so different.

RE: MLB 2025 Season Thread
Dodgers payroll really exerting itself now - when you can throw out these starters:

Glasnow - $32 million
Snell - $28 million
Ohtani - $28 million
Yamamoto - $18 million

as part of a $350 million payroll vs Milwaukee's $121 million total payroll, you can rack up wins

The four Dodgers listed make $106 million.

MLB needs a salary cap

Ohtani with maybe the best postseason game ever.
3-3 at the plate
6 scoreless pitching with 10 k's.

just incredible. Kids watching tonight will tell their kids about this like what older folks tell their grandkids about guys like Mays and Mantle.

Wow, the Jays somehow complete the series comeback to make it to the World Series.

I don't know what their chances are against the Dodgers, but just excited to see this team with a chance to win it, no matter how slim.

Trey Yesavage and Jeff Hoffman pitched at ECU. Both have put in some work for the Blue Jays this post season. Man, ECU having two possible World Series champs to sell ECU baseball to recruits could be YUGE for the program.

Jays just 3 wins away!

Honestly just happy they aren't getting swept.
