ACU vs Tarleton could be crazy.

Next to last MBB game in Wisdom.

$1 hot dog night.

And the big one,
$1 beer night.

Let the fun times begin.

Beating UTA and ACU at home is our only possibilty at saving face this season.

ACU vs Tarleton should be a wild game. The Texans will come out with nothing to lose. Cats will have to stay focused.

Congrats Texans. I kept waiting for a letdown game and I knew Tarleton would come into this game with a vengeance. You dominated us in pretty much every aspect. Some of the final stats don't really show how much you guys dominated us, even the score. Texans win 67-52.

Watching us tonight, makes me think of what could have been. The players who should have been our starting PG and C haven’t played one second this year. Our SF/PF (Hicks) has only played 4 1/2 games.

But that’s how basketball go.

G¢U beats UTA. Not even close. Other than a couple of times, it looked like our guys were oaky taking a punch to the mouth.

This year just has not panned out for us from the start. It is all going to be about next year with new arena and hopefully fully healthy team. Next year will be very contentious in the WAC that is for sure. Is GCU going to be around next year ? Have not heard of where they will be playing. Will they go to MWC early or will they be in the WAC next year?

I believe both GCU and Seattle are gone at the end of this year.

Just like the women, the ACU men hold off a relentless UTA team that just wouldn't go away. The final 70-59 score doesn't really say how close the game was coming into the last couple of minutes.

It is really amazing how up and down games are in the WAC. You win one, then you lose, then you win... and it does not seem to matter who the opponent is. Well, except for the teams ranked 1 and 2. UTA played us tough but we held it together. Tarleton blitzed us. Oh well, the Cats play Utah Valley coming up. Maybe we will be hitting on all cylinders.

With the mess the MWC is right now I think they might prefer they wait until 2026 when everyone else is moved in and out before taking them in.

It's been reported in PHX media that they are leaving at the end of this years WAC sports season. Same goes for SeattleU I believe. I haven't read anything about UVU and CBU but wouldn't shock me to see them dip when in July as well.

I am not seeing any reason for the defectors to stick around.

Rumor is GCU isn't welcomed and that is driving some other schools decisions right now.

Their MWC invitation was for this year in the WCC. Their MWC invite is for the year after. As I mentioned a post above, it seems likely SUU and UT will bolt for the Summit this year, largely due to getting space away from GCU.

CBU and UVU would wait a year if the remaining seven were to stick together. If UT and SUU do leave, likely the Big West would be favorable to an early entry.

My comment about GCU not going to the MWC next year was looking at it from the MWC’s perspective due to them still being in a state of flux for 2025-26. They might not want to deal with an extra member right now.
